Do you respect bikers?
Yes, and no.
The retarded riders who think they are badasses weaving in/ out of traffic, speeding, cutting you off, etc. are always the rice rockets. I respect them as long as they drive normally and don't put MY life in danger by potentially causing an accident.
This coming from someone who doesn't ride or ever will, I think that by riding a motorcycle of any type you basically take your life into your own hands. Especially in this lovely land of the elderly, you can NEVER rely on people to drive with caution.

I think you have to respect those guys, I mean you gotta follow the laws regardless but just as a person you should give them a bit more space because even though you might catch a fender bender occasionally if they get touched at all it could be all over.
Some guys I've seen do get a little crazy, weaving in and out of cars or cutting people off themselves so at times yeah you'll want to let them know to chill out and push up on 'em but for the most part I feel like unless you're just a bad person trying to kill a poor guy you gotta give em space....

i brought my harley down here but after seeing the way people drive down here. i sold it. i've had a street bike since i was 15 but i won't drive one down here. look at all the car that get hit everyday. up north i would see a car accident about one every three years. i've seen 5 multi car pile ups in one day down here on a sunny day.

)... Here, it's not uncommon to go about 5 miles before you see two accidents in a row.

i respect bikes , unless the riders are hardasses . ive had a pack of 4 harleys come up on me recently on 60 , cut me off then slam on the brakes with no reason. if i had not been watching them i would have taken out 4 bikes , and the 6 ppl on them . easily with my truck. i literally went from 55 mph to under 35 mph after i darn near locked the brakes up, and we were the only ones on the road .they think they own the road . its bullcrap . i should have taken them out.
When I see them weaving their way through traffic in my rear view mirror, I let off the gas and open up space in front of me, and when they're going slow in front of me, I back off until I can safely pass. If a biker is being an idiot, I just remind myself that karma's a bitch. I extend people on motorcycles more slack than to any other driver, because they are pretty much defenseless in an accident.

NO it is not legal, It is a moving violation, which means POINTS.
If a biker can get pissed because a car is trying to share a lane with them then that must mean the rider thinks they are entitled to a full lane, and if they are entitled to a full lane then so is a car.

I don't respect bikers as a general rule, I don't respect anyone just because they are part of a group of people. I respect individual people that earn it, and most bikers don't drive like they deserve the respect. Even still, I do watch out for other bikers. I have been riding off and for about 11 years, have been through a safe rider course, and lawenforcment drivers course. I watch out for bikes since there are alot of nice bikes out there and I am always looking out for a creative paint scheme, or mod. Unfortunately there are way too many jackass riders that give a bad name to bikes.
Glad to know that.. i will throw my door open now when they pass beside me. I thought they could legally go between you at redlights and stuff to get infront. Oh well.
