I thought they were

If a biker is infront of me I give him or her about 3 car lengths infront of me. I really don't like being behind a biker so usually if I can I will switch lanes.

I'm am safe when it comes to this because I really don't want to hit anyone if their walking, riding a bike, or in a passenger vehicle, etc. YOU might be a safe driver when you ride your bike but YOU can't say they all are.

What I'm trying to get to is not ALL motorcyclist are SAFE drivers. I watch for motorcyclist... I agree not everyone does. Not ALL passenger vehicle drivers are SAFE drivers. So a motorcycle getting into an accident can't always be the passenger vehicle's drivers fault or error.

Also, about the parking - I have parked on a couple side walks, because when you park in a parking spot - and two SUVs park on either side of you - your bike is about to get hit - if I'm going to be less then 5 to 10 minutes, compare it to the as$heads that put on their hazards infront of the ATM at publix. : )
How the hell would your bike get hit being between 2 SUV's? Unless your parked illegal inbetween them but if your in your own parking spot and they are in there's how is this possible? I can see if I was parked inbetween them and they opened their door and hit my car. But a bike? You can probably open a door all the way and still not hit a bike if it was centrally parked in a parking spot.

i usually give bikers plenty of room as long as they are observing the laws. if they are in packs, and some of them merge in front of me and there is a car to the right or left just ahead of me preventing the rest of the group from merging, i will fall back and blip the brights to let them in. im very courteous to bikes as long as they are courteous back. i do like to ride beside them on the bridges, most bikes to me look cool, but that's about as close to being on one i'll ever get.

now when bikes are in packs and rolling 20 deep down the road or interstate at 40mph so the few guys in the front can "stunt"...thats ok in a sense...since ive only encountered that late at night when theres little traffic, but if i am trying to get home, i do try to get around them and most of the time i can hit the brights in the fast (left) lane, and they'll let me through. sometimes i even get a few that wanna play, which i admit will happen if the conditions are right/safe enough (though i can only keep up with the slower bikes).

as for the squidtards biker boying down roads in broad daylight, they dont get my respect. but i dont fuck with them. i let them go ahead and be stupid, chances are karma catches up to them and they'll be dead soon. its sad too, since theyre probably decent people...til they get on a bike.

for the most part people on non sportbikes are pretty good riders. i still see alot of them die merely because theyre just speeding or due to car drivers not paying attention, but obviously you dont see harley guys stunting, and rarely do they act like asses. most of the harley owners nowadays are yuppie scum who just joyride on the weekends and evenings on interstates and backroads since they feel it makes their wholesome white collar life feel not so gay and a little badass i guess.

the harley type riders that are the assholes are the younger guys or middle age guys who are the "true" harley bikers. these guys will sometimes drive like shit, but i let them go because they are true badasses and 99% of the time, they are carrying hot weapons. ask frankie or forge.

the only thing that really pisses me off is the lane splitting. in moving traffic, it's a death wish that will sooner or later come true. i can understand the *reason* for doing it at lights and such, but it is not an excuse. like said earlier, its a risk, you take it, you're hot, too fuckin bad. buy a car with a/c. this isnt BFE, vermont where its nice during the day. its florida, its 130*+ ambient on the asphalt, stopped, and you have 5 million cars around you radiating at 350*+ each plus lots of exhaust filled air (unclean!!!). im surprised more people dont open car doors seeing bikes plow down the middle, but 2 wrongs dont make a right. its gonna happen, but i just think one day they'll get theirs. and no one fucks with me, i have my police issue baton and a pair of industrial sized zip tie handcuffs. citizens arrest is a wonderful thing, and so are concealed weapons permits, and the new laws to defend yourself. the mace thing is funny, but thats kinda fucked up, and is gonna cause alot more traffic problems when the person is sitting there freaking out for 20 minutes crying and coughing and unable to get his car out of the way.

bottom line: people in cars need to stop with the horrible driving, cell phones, retarded teen girls, ricers, etc etc. bikes have a time and place to stunt and attempt to lathe themselves on the asphalt, and should learn to spot shitty car drivers (yeah, there's alot of them) and just stay away. being a dick on either side of the fence is just gonna lead to a thread here one day about someone that we all know dying, and lord knows we've had plenty of those threads already.
god damn your a genious. Best thing said this whole thread. Rep for you.

wait let me back this up.

In parking, same as driving,we have the lane.
We can drive in the center,or towards the left or right more.

Also same in parking. Our parking is not limited to just the center.
If I park, and see alot of oil/water/collant I try to park more to the side, and yes I came out the other day and saw most of a car in my spot, which means BOTH tires were past the line.

Whos fault is that?

i believe it's only lawful to not wear a helmet if you have a proven $100,000 insurance policy or something like that. but we all know most of the people w/o helmets probably dont have that type of insurance on them, but it's not caught since you cant just look at a biker and tell if he has insurance or not...which is why some of the jerk cops will find reasons to pull over bikes (for some minute detail) and check their insurance and licensing.

also another thing. i do understand the deal with buying the flush mount signals and this and that and removing stuff that sticks out for aerodynamic purposes, but the whole seeing what lengths you can go to with hiding your license plate under the rear tail or something is just asking for harassment. i.e. with my car i used to have the smoked plate cover, and long ago i had some hyper white bulbs (that were kinda bluish) on a former car i had. i realized not only were these trends gay and stupid looking but they left me open for cops to harass me and check for other things (tint, bust me for muffler stuff, etc)...so as far as that goes, dont put illegal lights or do illegal tag modifications, and you'll probably get f'ed with alot less. cops ignore me now, i drive normal, car is subtle/stock, exhaust is stock looking, resonated/quiet, my bulbs are correct. works wonders.

See I asked simple questions to prove some points. People look for excuses to cover up mishaps. I've broken the speed limit plenty of times. By you stating your a SAFE driver but then speeding is going against being SAFE now is it? No one is a SAFE driver or rider. NOT everyone obeys traffic laws or laws to that matter. I don't street race by the way so don't bring my car into this... nice try though. Generalization once again... I guess everyone that drives a modified import street races.
