Without reading or going into the specifics of this thread, I can't really tell you how old it gets that people still expect car dealers to tie up thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars in a car and not make any money on it. Give me a fucking break.

 

its not like that...i want 17k for my car..he pulled up the value of the car which was 18.5k...then the mechanic comes back and says "well its worth about 17.3 but with that dent we can only give you 16k"

First a Mechanic will never put a value on a car, they have no idea what it is worth so it was probably a buyer. Second I think you miss understood, anyone in the car bizz will tell you, that small dent doesn't make a difference. You may be albe to pop it out anyhow. So I think you should go back there and get clearification and what contributed to the value of the car. It wasn't the dent.

 

Pay the minimal expense to get it pulled at Carsmetics, then go to another Carmax. How hard is that?

I guess people dont read the whole thread and flame like they know what they are talking about... No one dent is not worth 2k, especially that one.
