Wah Wah Wah. If your car is worth SO much more sell it on your own. What makes you think it was worth KBB excellent condition anyway? What is paid for your car is not determined in the slightest by KBB value, and even still unless you just drove that car out of the showroom, its most certainly not worthy of an excellent rating. I CHALLENGE you to find another dealer willing to give you more money for your car straight out without trading. By the way, I still will never understand where people get off bitching and moaning because Carmax didnt offer them exactly what they wanted for their car in the FREE appraisal...thats right FREE FREE FREE. Didnt cost you anything...dont like it? too bad

It wasn't the damage, as that little dent does not make any difference. It it was the true value for you VW. Try to sell you car to KBB, go and click the 'print check' button. VWs lose their value faster than any other import. KBB is based on trade in values gievn by dealerships that sell a particular car new as they should know the values the best. Well VW in order to combat the depreciation so they will not lose money on their lease turns ins, are giving trade in values of more than the car is worth in order to sway the market up ward. In doing so they bury the backend on the new cars they sell. Hence higher KBB values than the market really is for the car. Go to the black book or Manhiem auctions and see what they are going for there. Thats the true market value. Hopefully you will find some idiot to buy it from you based on KBB and you can get out of the car.
Oh and PV has been in the car bizz his entire life and knows what he is taking about. He constantly sends people there to get their cars appraised as he knows they give better values than anyone else and it helps him sell cars where he works. Good Luck!
