How will you know who wins? Say the stang runs mid 10s, and the honda runs high 10s, but the honda used less money? How will you gauge the ratio of money spent to times?
And im not a honda person, but they are the only people in this thread not talking shit. And to be honest, the mentality of some of you guys baffles me. Scott is the only reasonable ford person in this thread, everyone else is just being a muscle head.
Oh and dont say shit to me about fords, im building one myself.
And a DSM.
Bitches.

This is going nowhere productive.
How bout this. Each forum gets a chance to produce a contender. There will be a set cut off date, and the track day show down will determine that. You can spend whatever amount of money you want on the car(must keep all reciepts). BUUUUUUT nobody gets to keep their projects. All contenders must remain safe street cars. The reason is that at the end of the competition the cars will be handed over to be ebayed off. The profits will go directly to the TR/TF expansion fund.
So if everyone wants to get a chance to actually enjoy their project before giving them up, then they need to finish them asap so they can race, test, and tune before the big day. Cause after the big day they are gone.
The winning tech forum should get some sort of special treatment...best determined by the admin. And the actual donators of the winning project would get a years worth of free TR santioned track days...or something cool like that. You would have to have put more than 100 dollars into the project to become eligable(sp?). None of this buying a quart of oil shit. Plus the bragging rights is what its all about anyway.
I know this thought is in really rough form, but its putting something that has a productive end out there. There will need to be some guidelines, yet this can remain simple enough. The reason for no spending limit and then never seeing your car again is to promote a put up or shut up contender. Everyone has the chance to put their money where their mouth is because nobody gets any of it money back. You wanna have a real contender? Then you better be willing to either spend the moooola or get really creative. Its all used for the greater good in the end. This can be used as a promotion gimmick in so many ways i hope the admin can pick this up and run with it.
I propose we set up a TR track day to determine the winning forum in dec which would give everyone plenty of time to get ready, and even have som fun with their cars. Plus the weather will be optimal for the best times.
