You Chevy/Gm guys
It's no harder to tune by setting up a fuel and timing map than it is to set up a carb. Hell, a friend of mine who had no trouble tweaking his SAFC bought an old Z car and had a hell of a time adjusting the carbs, it's a foreign concept to somebody from the EFI age. The only carb I deal with is on my motor scooter and I spend more time fiddling with that thing to adjust for temperature changes and riding conditions than it's worth, and with no better feedback on the state of tune than spark plug reading and butt dyno. With EFI you never have to adjust it once it's tuned, you have the capability to monitor every aspect of your engine's performance in real time and even set safeguards for if something goes wrong.
I personally wouldnt buy a GM or chevy truck for sure, MAYBE a corvette...My mom made the mistake of getting a 2004 avalanche. Since then, she has had her car in the shop a number of times for the same reason, It is popping in the front end when she turns. They keep telling her somthing about the crossmember bolts coming loose and that its no big deal... NO BIG DEAL??? her car pops on corners and has bolts falling out. The service manager told her all of the gm trucks are doing it and they cant get it fixed. she took it in today and its already popping again

Carbs suck and can not make consistant power. Plus you have to "tune" them all of the time.
Heck I had to mess / tune my carb twice last year ! Once when we put it on the car and the other time was when I wanted to up the boost, stupid damn carb.. !
Unless you have had both kinds of fuel delivery don't knock it until you try it or hate on it because you don't understand. There is a lot to be said for simplicity.

Yeah, I tune my carbs ALL the time. Tuned the carb on the Harley... once. Tuned the carb on the Camaro... once. Oh wait, I tuned the carb on the Cadillac twice because I rebuilt it and didn't get it quite exact with a bench tune.
Wait, my Honda bike had four (4) carburetors on it. I had to sync them two or three times while I owned the bike and tune them once. I also swapped the aircleaner and exhaust pipes out though, so I think that's justifyable.
On the other hand, my FI Camaro freaked out, missed, wouldn't start, and basically sucked shit because a $20 sensor died. $20 sensor, no big deal right? Yeah, except it was behind the harmonic dampener and I had to take half of the front of the car off to get to it!
Let's not forget my OL's TA with 100k miles on it missing and hesitating because of some unknown computer problem. My sister's Monte Carlo with TBI throws all sorts of engine codes and runs like dog shit because of some kind of sensor freakout. My pop's '95 Mustang GT, FI, sucks, has computer problems. See the trend here? Fuck computers in cars. They're unnecessary and just bring up the cost and complexity of repairs.

Toyota is NOT buying out GM. Heard of NUMMI? Joint venture between Toyota and GM where Toyota felt sorry for them and worked with them to make some better cars. All Tacomas and the Geo Prism/Corolla combo were in this program, as well as the Pontiac Vibe/Toyota Matrix. In some countries, Cavaliers are also Toyota badged instead.
Even if they were, I'm sure they'd wait a little longer for their stock to drop more
Frank: The problem must be domestic computers
Which is weird, because thats usually the German's and my car's problem..
