As technology advanced we got around it. What were they gonna do? Build engines up to 800 ci and have to run on race gas all the time? then out comes a car witha 6-71 blower that runs on alcohol from dodge? Some of the fastest cars in the history of the automobile are coming out now. Keep in mind the epa and nader werent the only issues.. gas prices were the story of the day and nobody wants to drive around a 4 mpg muscle car, when they can only get 5 gallons of gas at a time. Blame epa and nader for the demise of fast cars, when opec was turning the screws too?

Saftey is a good thing, Daytime running lights, seatbelts, abs, airbags, crumple zones... I'll take them all if it means if I'm in an accident, I will walk away.

 

Almost. I can do without the late model Mustang GT's with the wings and loud exhaust on them, but I'd say 99% of mod'd V8's are cool. Hell, nobody ever gives me shit about my domestic gas guzzler, all I get are props.
