Greatest car of the nineties?
Honda first introduced the DOHC VTEC mechanism in the US on the 1990 Acura NSX. But a year earlier in 1989, the Japan Domestic Market got the world's first dose of DOHC VTEC in the 1989-1993 generation of the Honda Integra.

Any of the Fox Body Mustangs (1990 - 1993). As much as some of you love to hat on them they are cheap, have the biggest aftermerket, and the factory parts can handle a bunch of power.
Not to mention they were only $12k -$14k brand new unlike the others mentioned.
Of course I am not biased either.

Hondas MIGHT become like VW Bugs & Transporters are to the 50 year olds of today. They remember "hopping" them up as kids, or making beach buggies outa 'em. Still, even 30 years later they aren't pulling in huge prices!
Then again, vans were very popular in the early 70's & never came back.
If anything, it'll be the cars that were too expensive for that generation to own so they remained "unicorns" until paychecks started coming in. The Supra & 300ZX TT fit this mold.
So who has a crystal ball???

I'm really suprised by the amount of different answers that you guys all had.
As for a tend setting and desireable car there are really only 2 on that list that really get a vote.
The 2nd choice in my book even though I personally dislike them is the newer style supra not sure what year but the sleek one. That car changed alot of other cars thinking in terms of body shaping and what is sexy and what isn't. The cars will be worth good money later on to. (not that they don't bring good money now but ill continue to bring it for years to come)
My 1st pick would be the viper. When the car first came out it was light years style wise ahead of almost everything. The sleek lines and awesome stance made it an instant classic. Carrol Shelby raised the bar yet again with this car. It as a whole won't be a valuable as his real cobra's but the rare ones certainly will be worth the kind of money in say 40 years. A trend setter to say the least.
The civic's and integra's didn't and won't be setting any trends anytime in the near future.
The fox mustang changed some thing but went mostly unchanged from 87 till 93 so it doesn't really classify to me a car of the 90's.
Corvette's didn't make huge strides in style, they had some preformance but again not what I think we would call a trendsetter.
Just my opinion hope the reasoning makes sense to you all.
