Greatest car of the nineties?
The purpose of this post was to help "identify" cars that would become "desired" collectibles in the near future.
requirements: Car MUST be stock. Car can NOT be a "Supercar", because most supercars are "already" considered deirable or classics (viper is on the line....)
Example:
A 1969 Camaro is nice, but a Big Block 1969 Camaro is "desirable". A Yenko Camaro is "highly" Desirable
Most of the cars I listed are "special". The 1993 MR2 Turbo was the last year they imported to the USA, and came with the cool tailights. Only a limited # came here that year.
The TT Supra. The car costs as much NOW as it did 5 years ago. This makes ALL years of Supras desirable.
The CRX DID NOT make the list. When a car hits the "rock" bottom price....it can no longer hold value. A rock bottom price for all cars is $1500-$3000. For this reason, this car did not make the list.
Help?

Keep in mind that early 240 and 260Z's hit rock bottom in the early to mid 80's. Not desirable at all at the time...today an excellent show car example can command up to 20K or more. So what might be considered a un-desirable car today might be an unseen classic in a few years.
You are seeing the same returns on 70's model Vettes right now too. Good examples are getting good money.
Considering this, and clean stock CRX Si will most likely be highly sought after when we are all older and have money and want to relive our roots.
But my chosices would be '93 Cobra Mustang, or any clean 5.0 Mustang, especially LX 5.0's convertibles (anniversary edition)
Of course the 300Z TT is already a classic. I'd even say that the first gen 240SX SE's will be sought after, convertible versions being most rare.
TT Supra, Impala SS, '93+ Miatas, Camaro Z28's, Integra GSR and Type R,
of course Viper GTS, ZR1 and Grand Sport Vette. Thats all I can think of right now.

you could have said it like this
"Any thing with an LS1. it would get smacked down by half the cars in the list.
"i dont know what the best car would in the 90s would be.
and about the 92 nsx. i think they had the vtec in 91 in japan on the preludes. not too sure though, but honda was always a head by at least a year in japan.
the amg gremlin and javeline have been at rock bottom and now their prices are rising past the $10k and 20k mark on some cars.
do you think the subaru svx would be a desirable in say 10 more years. limited numbers and they had a steady $6000+ street value.

so what are we looking for? cars that have "classic lines" and are desirable? or cars that hold their value?
2 horses of 2 different colors in my book..
i know for me, the car i desire most, might not be the most valuble.
