What do you do for warm up. I mean with a stat the water doesnt circulate until it reaches the opening point.

Did you wire the WP along with the fan through the XFI?

On mine the XFI controls the fan.. but I have it set to activate at 187 and shut off at 177(180 stat)

Maybe set it to 160 and wire both WP and fan together? Thoughts...

I run a Ron Davis radiator with the 2 fans and a Meziere pump. My inter-cooler is a horizontal mount but I also have an a/c condenser. Been thinking about adding a pusher fan in the front.
I had been dealing with engine issues pressurizing the cooling system so I can't say how well it does or does not work. My turbos are water cooled and that does not help.
I will be looking into an oil cooler soon.

Wanted to update. I went with the Meziere 55 gph unit and it ended up doing the job fine. The notes on the install .. the belt needed to be .5 inch shorter, supplied allen head SS bolts where .125 too long, and the power steering bracket needed to be cut to fit over the outlet. Water temps during a 30 mile cruise hit a high of 180 at 2300 rpms.. and idling it for a little while temps came down. This was run no thermostat.

Update on my "True Street" outing this past weekned.. made the cruise fine.. first pass 9.84 at 138 on a 1.5x 60 foot.. second pass as soon as I did the burnout.. Aeromotive pump died and lost pressure. After I let it cool off.. it came back to life.. what a bum deal.. but hey thats racing.. new pump will solve the maladies. That pumps been on the car for 5 years at least.

I know your power level is way above what I'm about to describe but it may help others with similar problems. When I built Airborne's car we had trouble keeping it cool. We had a champion radiator, stock fan, stock water pump and a crate ordered stock 302 and couldn't keep it cool. Tried everything I could think of. Then we heard to try baby drinking water and water wetter.. after that, never had a problem again....

A good healthy battery will run the fan and the pump while you're in the lanes. Alternators are key, and you probably need a good 200-amp alternator to properly charge the battery--you are running a lot of electrical equipment on that thing. One thing to keep in mind with alternators is that they aren't necessarily throwing 200 amps at idle. Most have an rpm or engine speed at which they start charging. PA Performance can give you the dirt on this.

Another key is having a fan that doesn't draw a lot of amps. Many of the factory fans do just that, so oftentimes the aftermarket pieces are better. Spal and Flex-A-lite offer relatively low-amp fans.

Beyond that, you may need to make some mods to the front to get more air through or past the intercooler.

Oh, and wrap that pipe! It can cause the hose to prematurely weaken and fail.
