well i put cherry bombs on, they were blow thru, and i loved the sound and wanted to put my tailpipes on but i couldnt. so i put my dynomax back on, without tailpipes, and it seems like it has a little more pep to it

Side pipes from the mufflers unfortunately costs a bit of hp in the process. They have ready made pipes for the SN95 cars that will work equally as well on fox cars. The pipe comes out of the back,. then snakes around almost 180 deg toward the front before another 90 deg bend out to the side.

And another unfortunate chassis restriction will be the ground clearance if you decide to relocate stock style chambered mufflers in order to avoid the snaking and just go for a 45 deg bend out the side. It can be done,. I did it with an 84 Z28 which had a lot less clearance for exhaust under there than a fox does. I used 2 bullet mufflers,. but they were not the blow thru style.. they had the spirals inside of it with the screens on each end. I then had 2 pieces of pipe bent at 45 deg and added 2 chrome tips on the ends. It would probably be considered redneck today,.. but back in 86 it was considered pretty cool to have a true dual exhaust in a 3rd gen. Was a hella lot cheaper then buying an aftermarket muffler. I had hit a pot hole and a chunk of a man hole ripped a hole in my muffler. They wanted $260 for a new muffler. Back then that was a lot of money, especially when you are only making $10hr. And 10hr was considered good money back then. For $80 I did the 2 bullets, pipes and tips out the sides.

If you dig em, use them bitchs and have a exhaust shop fab up some type of tailpipe setup. Why not just use 2 1/2 dumped exhaust pipes like the stock ones...? There not pretty but dont look bad either.
