with the key in the ignition, turned to the on position. leave the sensor plugged in. You need to peirce the wires insulation with your volt meters pins. black is ground, green is positive. you should read somewhere close .98 volts.

If not, you need to loosen the screws and move the TPS until you are close to .98 volts and retighten.

Now, SLOWLY open the throttlebody blade and watch the voltmeter. It should slowly and smoothly rise until you hit WOT where it will read roughly 4.5 volts. If at ANY point the rise in volts drops out or jumps up and down you have dead spot in the TPS and need a new one.

You really should google this, because the IAC and TPS adjustment go hand and hand. Set the TPS and if it doesnt idle right (too high or too low) the iac has to be adjusted, then you have to reset the TPS again. HTH

i'm not aware of any adjustment for the IAC. I think you are referring to the throttlebody stop screw perhaps? when you change that the TPS should be checked.

If all you did was take off the IAC and the TPS and NOTHING else was touched i would suspect the TPS for your stuttering/hesitation problems now.

You said the idle is fine now correct?

yea, it was fine

but i just adjusted everything and it idles very smooth now and i havent noticed any stuttering/hesitation yet. i drove it for about 5 minutes around the block
BUT i have it set at .98 and at WOT it reads 4.7 instead of 4.5 like u were sayin

i have my timing turned up to 17 instead of 14 like the owners manual says, could that have some affect on it?

WOT can read anywhere from 4.5 to 5.1 max it all depends on the setting. Push the throttle blade all the way open by hand and see what it reads. If it doesn't open that far by pushing the gas pedal, you've got some slop somewhere in the linkage.

Setting your timing at 17 is pushing it. The timing tables and any adders or multipliers are set up assuming a base timing of 10 degrees. If you set it at 17 degrees. the computer is commanding a timing of 7 degrees higher than it thinks it is everywhere...including at WOT. For example, the stock A9P EEC is commanding 26 degrees of timing at WOT at 5500 rshared_pm and above, including that 10 degree base. So, total is 26 degrees. If, however, you set your base at 17 degrees, your timing at WOT and 5500 rshared_pm and above is going to be 33degrees. That can get you into trouble, especially if you are boosting or on the juice.
