Well, considering I got like 12 runs out of one bottle refill (sometimes more), I could usually go at least 2 times to the track without any problems. So, one bottle would usually hold me off for a week or so....Obama math....Thats funny! Then, you can get the bottle refilled for like $40 almost anywhere on your way to the track or on your way home from work....It's like a payment plan. And the payments are only as much as you wish to make them. If you haven't any money, then you don't need to race too badly. You can always ask a friend to use their bottle also....Also....If the NOS kit breaks (yes, the solenoids go bad every few years) you can replace the individual part....Usually for less than $80....Try THAT with the Turbo. Also, it can be removed at any time....The turbo will take you at least a day or so to remove....If you still have the original parts still. LOL

$75 Cheap eBay 50mm blow off valve
Less than $100 for a t3 flange, misc flanges, fittings

We used stock headers, cut up some old exhaust pies for tubing, and fabbed a carb hat, no intercooler. It sounds gross, but it really didn't look half bad. I wish I had pictures to prove it. Granted, this is an extreme example, and we definately did a lot of cutting and welding ourselves, but we really did it, and it really cost less than $300. The motor was stock with an e-cam, and made 340rwhp @ 10PSI, on Race Related's dyno. It ran great.

right. there is a guy down the road from me that made his own kit. the welding is not the cleanest looking but it all works. but yeah he has it all w/o turbo, for $150. he said it it's for a carb 302 but it came off of his efi 302.

^^^ Dude, you never go play anyway so yeah, I can see a bottle lasting you for 2 weeks. Even at that, you're talking $1040 per year in refills not counting dropping off and picking up your bottle. Yeah, yeah, I know, you did it on the way to and from the track, that would be Obamanomics. Now, if you do like most Nitrous users and use the better part of your bottle for purging those cool white clouds at stoplights and hamburger joint parking lots, go ahead and at least double that cost. I think you guys and your $360 are forgetting about those little niceties like remote openers, bottle heaters, window switches and all those other little things that you need in order to make the bottle work right and not eat your pistons with a little fuel hiccup.

OTOH, y'all keep on buying those bottles. All else being equal, I feel better lining up against a bottle than against another turbo. Oh, and even better if it's a bottle and a manual tranny. But that's another story.

Step 1
I say bottle that bitch and turn it up till something pops off.
Step 2
Then fix the part with something that can handle the power.
Step 3
See step 1

Sheeut! I don't wanna line up against parts that I trained either. I wish those heads had worked for you. They sure kicked butt for me back then. Damn I wish I still had that car.

Oh, I've got a Stage II in this one. Don't know why but II sounded twice as good as I at the time.

You're so right...Now I don't play at all. LOL I never purged my lines with a purge kit. I always did it in the burnout. Kinda helps to eliminate the issues of overpurging. I don't have a "window switch", remote bottle opener, bottle heater, or anything else...and my kit works just fine. I never had any fuel hiccups though. I made sure I was running the way I was supposed to. Basicly, I READ and FOLLOWED the directions included in the kit. Of course, if you can't read and follow directions, then you shouldn't choose EITHER kit.

Now, with YOUR math, it would take 3 years to purchase a "real" turbo kit. i.e. a NEW kit. Not something that was cobbled together with crummy welds and a used diesel turbo which will leave you wondering if it will hold together while you're running it or not.

A person COULD get a nice Paxton supercharger also....Thats another option which has been forgotten and brushed under the carpet in recent years.

If you have time to wait to save the money, get a turbo or a super charger. OTOH....If you want to go fast...NOW...Then get a NOS kit and have it on by the end of the week...for around $360(assuming you install it yourself).
