Hope that you get it figured out.

Yeah the stator/pickup. I went thru that problem about a month or two ago, fucking drove me crazy tracking it down. It would be drive fine except for putting a heavy load on it.

Does the Holley rebuild kit provide thorough enough instructions to complete the task? I'm confident I can tackle practically any mechanical task so long as I have a good set of instructions and the proper tools/parts.

Yes the instuctions are very good, if not pick up a haynes manual (carb rebuild)

But Steve is right about the tools needed, just make sure you have a big ass can of carb clean to soak it all in, getting it all clean is the biggest thing.

Bring the old carb over here along with the rebuild kit. I'll have it back to you in a day. Or, just bring the car over here with a new Holley Street Avenger like I have and it'll be fixed in 10 minutes and running/idling like a champ.

Install that coil I gave you and run new wires as far as you can as well. Additionally, make sure you've got a clean fuel filter on it and a way to check how much fuel pressure you've got. Sounds a lot like the fuel pump is getting old and when combined with the fuel leaks/crappy carb that you're not getting enough fuel pressure.

I'll stick by my Street Avenger recommendation as it started up a car that hasn't run in 9 years with no fiddling whatsoever. In addition, not even the idle screw needed to be tweaked, mine idles right at 750.

Coil wire is fixed. Car runs well, but still has a low idle issue and of course gas is leaking from the front and rear bowls.

Come to find out that this carburator on my car was a remanufactured carb by some place called Pony Carburators who "specializes" in rebuilding and modifying the 4180 to cure it of many common issues. Perhaps this carburator isn't complete garbage just yet. Would it be worth my time swapping out the bowl gaskets? Would I even have to remove the carburator from the manifold to accomplish this?
