HELP...car broke down
No prob, brothah! I was glad to help get that thing going.
Next weekend we'll work out the return to idle issue and I'll do the timing/tuning while screwing with the mixture. Sounds like we may have to change out the vacuum secondary spring but who knows.
You've gotta let me work on the visuals under the hood a bit next time too. It could be sparklin' like a disco bawl with a few things.

Oh, I'd really like to rewire a few more things too. Make things a bit more safe than stock even if the SSP twats will want to lynch you.

Definately needs some help under the hood. I think sucking the rat shit off the top of the intake manifold and removing the dead ant colony from the battery tray probably shed a few tenths off my quarter mile time.

Think I need something like this:

Complete article:
Carburetor Selection and Set Up (especially for Ford powered MGB V
No one seems to make a return spring kit for the Street Avenger series. Quite a few out there for the Holley 4150 and 4500. Guess that could work?

Yeah, I had a rat ecosystem worthy of sale at a local Brookstone under the hood of the Cat. Gotta love factory air-gap intakes for making a veritable apartment complex for small furry critters.
I wish I had that old carb of yours over here right now. I'd light it on fire and throw it at the asshat neighbors that are keeping me awake with fucking bottle rockets. It was a long day, it's past Miller time for both of us.

That would work, your linkage looks just like that. I'd prefer a dual spring setup with a grommet in that big hole instead, it is not prone to falling out unlike a spring that is just kinda hanging out there.

i had rats take the insulation from the AC/blower and make a nest under the intake manifold of my efi f150. damn florida rats!

Ended up the choke wasn't connected to a constant 12v source, so it wasn't opening once the car warmed up. When the choke is fully closed, the throttle lever itself sits just above idle. I found a 12v source from an unused harness and VOILA!....issue was fixed.

So was that the problem all along or with the new carb?
That was the idle issue with the new carb. New carb, coil, and fuel pump fixed pretty much everything that was giving me issues previously. I still want to do something about the ignition since that is probably the next to go.
All the new carb needs now is some adjusting.
