They know who is at the door....You just dont run up and kick it in. And dont think Im empty handed. The option to open the door is thiers. When they know how is at the door and refuseto open it......Like Hurst said....I dont care if its a $250 bond. If you miss your court date and you refuse to take care of the problem.....believe me most is given ample time to resolve it on thier own, Last resort is me coming to do a pick up, you better open the door when its knocked on and your home.

Cant be SKEEERRRRRRD!

Gnrslow: were ont he same page.....Dont say anything when being questioned for DUI. But be as honest and respectful up to that point.

Bamf: All I can say is.....thats why some people are in LE/Bounty work and some are not. Also a member of our SWAT team, Ive made over 50 entries into peoples homes. Some armed and knew we were coming. SOme had no clue. The main safety net we have is "suprise". If you know Im at your door, then a flashbang is coming trough you window (pending no other concerns). And almost all of your windows will be broken as a "destraction". Do people still have a chance to shoot?....well sure. All we can do is hope our training and equipment is better. Its an unfortunate reality of law enforcement. Never been in the military (really close but went the college route) so I cant say how they do it. However, Numerous people I work with have been military and most seemed to be trained similar to our swat school. That why I say... think again to people that say fuck the police....cause would you do it?

Do members of LE/bounty get killed making entries....yes. However, its way more common on simple traffic stops. Traffic stops are the MOST dangerous thing LEO's can do. Statistics prove it.

Absolutely, in the case of SWAT. You've got excellent armor and weapons, those shields (can any common rifle rounds even penetrate those things?), a team of highly trained troops, and the element of surprise. Plus, a lot of people think twice before actually shooting at the police special forces.

A bounty hunter, on the other hand, announces their presence first. They may bust down the door with a few guys, but certianly not the organization, manpower, or speed of a SWAT team. They're just a bondsman breaking into someone's house. Maybe they have a handgun on them and a vest without trauma plates? That isn't much to stand up to what the average Floridian keeps next to their bed.

Now in states like California, New York, etc., shooting the bondsman probably isn't a problem. Thats how stupid ass shows like Dogg the Bounty Hunter go on where the guy plays Billy Badass around everyone he meets; its a different mentality. States like Florida, Texas...people here have a different mindset. And a lot of firepower. And the people he is attempting to apprehend are all criminals...Thats a pretty bad combination.

I dunno, like you said, thats why some are what they are and some aren't. Just seems like an awful lot of risk to put yourself in day in and day out to me. Just my .02.

This is most people think and it doesnt work that way. First off FL doesnt recognize bounty hunters. There is no licensed bounty hunters in FL. LE cant forcefully enter a house without a warrant. MOST street officers and on occasion warrant detectives love to go out with us. Cuts through a lot of red tape of getting a warrant to enter....I dont need one. We make entry and they come in behind me

When is the last time you heard of a bondsmen being shot in FL? Pick ups are done nightly. I use the same element of surprise (people do sleep).....people with warrants open the door to the average joe before a uniformed officer. I'm not saying every door I go to gets get kicked in actually its very few, but not gonna walk away and not get the person I went there for if they are there and refuse to open it bcause the think they dont have to.

True story....one of the latest was here in Tampa, Office Mike Roberts. The guy he stopped walking pushing a cart ended up having cart full of guns. Guess thats why I'm not a cop, because I feel when they caught him hidding behind a house the should of smoked his ass. Sad

Very scary one there.....Those kind of stops happen hundreds of times each night in the bay area. One was bound to go bad. Unfortunately, there was not much the late Officer Roberts could've done. I agree.....he shouldve been executed on the spot. Remeber the lakeland shooting 2 or 3 years ago. Three officers died and the suspect was pumped full of 100 and something bullets. Thats how it should be if you ask me, but Im partial

I use to love going with the bountys. . During my patrol days I always worked 7am to 7shared_pm so I worked with them alot.

There are no "common" rifles that would penetrate a ballistic shield (the ones we use) There are rifles that would but Im not telling that one.

Im an average citizen and couldnt agree more. If you have that much disregard for authority or human life in general....put an extra clip in the bastard! And I have a damn near duty trained Shepard, and someone shoot my dog they liable to be eatin lead!

Going to SC this weekend to do a pick-up.....dealing with other states is a little hairy, but gotta go

I was out with HCSO doing a pickup a few weeks ago, and a K-9 officer was selling T-shirts with his badge # with the black band on it and in memory on the back. All proceeds was going to his wife and kids. I bought $100 in T-shirts for the cause

That happened when I was in 10th grade. The canine unit who owned the dog that was killed was actually a good friend of my history teacher at the time. We had a big CJA meeting after it happened, and raised funds for the family of those involved. The guy got what he deserved. They emptied out quite a few clips on that piece of shit.

I'm a firm believer in the death penalty......on the street! Our screwed up court system want to feed them for 20+ years on death row, allowing appeal after appeal, to get federal money. One legitamte appeal and allowed due process, then put'm in the chair dammit!
