I dont see the problem with his PM. He's doing what I;ve asked him to do. Keep the drama to a minimum by making sure people don't get crazy.

I am sure other sites handle things their own way, but they dont have our user base. If we let the users handle tihngs them selves, we end up with the crap we had with negative rep, or worse. People form into tight little groups, punish new users, or other groups or use the tools available for petty revenge for stupid shit. The whole forum ends up being a battle ground and gets way worse than it is currently.

Anyhow.. bottom line is we don't get involved in scammer complaints between users because we dont have enough people to listen to both sides of the story and then make a decision on who is right and who is wrong. Thats not our job. We can never verify one persons story over anothers and have had plenty of situations where people out right lied about something just to get revenge on someone over some other thing. It just doesnt work.

If someone breaks the law, call the law enforcers, pretty simple. If they break TR's rules, then that is what my staff is for. If my staff isnt being fair, send me a PM. It's happened in the past and I deal with it.

I'm all about being fair, but being fair means completely different things to 50,000 different people so not everyone is happy with how things are. If your not happy about something, let me know and I will try to do something if I can.

We have the nice things in the Ford Forum here because people were not happy with something and asked for us to fix it. It's worked out pretty well so far.

i dont want to get into a big argument with you guys, but punishing scammers and thieves isnt what we do, there are people who already do that.

 

You're right. Thats what WE do. As in, the userbase of the Ford forum. But, we're not Honda tech where everyone is a punk bitch kid that needs to be smacked, Nissan tech where everybody is some Dori Dori drift punk who swears they're a track-car driver, or bike tech where....well...its just kinda nuts over there in bike tech.

Anyways, thats why we can and are allowed to police our own and the rest of this site is completely incapable of maintaining order while ostricizing the scammers/thieves/crooks.

 

You want the illusion that all is well. Wrongdoing is rewarded by being protected against even the mention of the truth. You quelch the voice of warning, so others may fall victim by not knowing that persons reputation.

You say you are impartial,BS. You dont have to enforce laws, but stay out of the way of the truth!

 

Hey Zate, why don't you make a feedback FORUM? Its on The Corral , I believe. Either that or turbomustangs.com. I Bet both of those FAR exceed TR's traffic. And it works very, very, very, very, very well. But, you'll need to enable the search feature again for it to be truly effective.

you miss so much of the point of what I have said. If you want to deal with the people who break the law, involve the police. If you just harrass them on a forum, you accomplish nothing, even if you let the whole forum know who they are, they just re-register a new name and scan someone else. You act like we havent been dealing with this in many various ways for 8+ years. Seriously, if someone is ripping people off, then get the police involved, or solve it some other way but nothing you do on here will mean anything, a new identiity is a few mouse clicks away.

I don't have enough staff to baby sit the 3500+ posts that go on here daily individually and investigate who is right and who is wrong.

If you have a problem with someone you think is scamming, hit the report post button so someone knows about it.

 

I have one of them for shops and people can't get that right. I think you are totally missing the point.

Lets say I have a feed back forum, here's how it will go down.

I dont like BAMF, he slept with my dog one time and didnt call her the next day. He also has a faster car than me and one day 4 months ago made me look stupid in a thread.

I post in that forum saying BAMF is a dog rapist and people should stay away from him. I have 0 facts, I just make it all up, I get a couple of my friends to pop in there and make up something too.

BAMF doesnt like that, him and his boys jump in the thread and say some shit and it's on, full on flame fest. Before you know it thread is locked down, couple of warnings for ass hattery are issued and people move on.

Next day BAMF is making a post about this new dog he met, and I come across it, I make a smart ass remark and so does my buddy.. i find other of BAMF's threads (using the awesome new search function) and post up what a dog fucker he is and do some general trollery.

You get my drift?

I am sure it works great on other forums.. i know plenty of forums much larger than TR that don't even need any kind of forum. When TR was 500 people, this wasnt a problem. When we all hung out regularly, this wasnt a problem. The reason we dont have a Verbal Warfare forum anymore for people to sort out their differences is because it doesn just stay in that forum.

Do you know how many bogus TRader ratings i have to deal with every week ? Userbase can't get TRader ratings right, we have to heavilty moderate the TRShop review forum (tons of useless shit in there too) and you think adding yet another forum for people to make up shit and bash each other is gonna help?

I wish it would, but it wont.

We've found out through trial and error that letting the users sort out their issues OFF the forum is the best way. Someone rips you off, contact the police, or do what ever needs to be done to deal with the issue, just dont drag me into it, I dont know who is right or wrong, not my job.

 

I am done with writing books on this. We are not upset with how you handled it, or how the mod handled it, I just wanted to explain that we dont play judge for that stuff, I dont have enough time or staff to listen to everyone's story and decide who is right.
