I agree that it was misleading but fairly typical these days. I can deifinately say that if that was your way of getting new customers or showing the old ones how things had improved for the better that this wasn't a good idea.

Also what was the deal with all the stuff they moved out from the showroom in front of the building entrance and that stuff wasn't half off? Guess it wasn't technically in stock since it was outside. Like outstock lol

I'm just mad I drug my happy ass out of bed on a saturday at like 6am for this. I'm not to happy at 6am unless i'm still up.

Well, it worked for me. Of course, I got the things I wanted....It's not like they have a whole warehouse in every store...I mean, who do you think they are, Jegs or Summit? I mean, I used to live about 10 miles away from Jegs in Columbus Ohio....They had a crap load of parts ALL the time...ON the floor. But these guys probably get their parts from Jegs or Summit...They had an awesome sale, and just because you guys didn't see the exact part you wanted, they're to blame? Please. They can't keep EVERY part in stock ALL the time.

I agree

I also disagree. People called for parts ahead of time but must have been in some other form of stock.
Also when it was AE I walked in and they had a whole section of parts in the back. I've picked up radials and all sorts of turbo parts from. In fact I never had to order a part from AE they had what I needed in stock everytime. (this includes dr's,bov,hg,piping,wbo2,silicon connectors,ebc,5 pts and afpr. They had all these parts in stock back then)
Now don't get me wrong I didn't expect them to have even a 3rd of the things i'd bought in the past but at least a few would have been nice. I'm glad some of you guys got the stuff you wanted for a good price but i'd say most people left without the things they were looking for.

You guys do understand that the warehouse at the Clearwater store is SPW not A&E. When Gearhead bought A&E they did not purchase SPW's inventory. If you go to Gearhead in Clearwater now and the warehouse has something you need Gearhead has to buy it from SPW then sell it to you.

50% off sale did not include SPW's inventory. Only what was in the showroom belonged to Gearhead.

I drove by at dark:thirty and there were only 2 pickups in the parking lot. Didn't want to hang out in the lot till opening so I went on in to work. Drove by again after work and it looked like everybody in Pinellas was there so I kept going again. I didn't think they would have anything I needed in stock anyway.

+11 mille.

SPW / A&E are and were two completely separate businesses. When you
"used" to walk into A&E and ask, "can I get XXX part?" And they would pull up their (A&E) inventory and it was not in stock, they would simply then pull up SPW's inventory, price it, tell you they could get it at XXX price, and walk through the double doors to the SPW counter and buy it from them, to sell to you at the front counter.

Anything that fit into THAT category was NOT half off on Saturday.

If you guys would have taken a moment to talk to some of the guys, specifically Ed, you would have found out that he was more than willing to work with you. I placed several special order pieces with them, that were not in stock at A&E (Now Gearhead), or SPW, and had to be ordered directly from the Manufacturer - and I am/was VERY VERY HAPPY with the purchase price that Ed gave me on those items. Normal retail: $199.95, jobber list at $169.95, I got the part at cost of $105.

In addition to the few special order parts, I got several MSD items, a carb, a line lock, and a couple other goodies - and got out the door with under $500 spent total!! Easily over $1000 of parts.

Thanks to Mitch, Ed, Gearhead, & all the other employees that made this possible for us at Christmas time & in a trying economy! Even though the lines were uber-shit, and Mitch was pumping out 3 customers to all the other lines' one customer - we walked away happy, got to get some great parts, great prices, hung out with some old friends, met some new gearheads, and made the best of the situations that we could!
