This stuff is pretty cut and dry. Anyone who does not pay at least the amount on the worksheet is either wrong or a piece of shit.

That sounds about right, but if she was to take you back to court it would go up.

I am paying $1425 plus medical and travel. Its two kids but I make no where near a 3 figure income.

 

Many child support agreements go until 21 depending on circumstances and how it was decided.

BTW, if you're interested in my opinion as someone who read into how this shit works because I was a child of divorced parents and was curious...what you're paying right now ain't that bad for you. The incidentals add up, I'm sure, but the flat rate of 800 ain't that bad considering you make a decent amount of money. If she really and truly needs the money to keep up a decent lifestyle for your kids then I fully believe the courts would allow her to up the child support. But, its always better to keep this kinda shit out of court as much as possible. Everyone loses except the lawyers when these things go to court.

 

Was your divorce filed in FL. If the oldest are not in school after 18, that committment "to the court" is finished. As far as the calculated sheet, they follow that very closely. On the back child support, FL will only let her go back to the day a new motion would be filed. ie- If she files tommorrow and it doesnt get settled for 2 months and there was increase ordered, she will only be owed 2 months difference. They are very cut and dry about child support. I would go talk to an attorney, that doesnt charge a counseltation fee, and run it past them.

 

This all happened when i was attending tech school. She works full time and lives at home with her mother. At the time the order was made i was clearign 60k a year. But now with my own medical bills I'm paying for, i barely clear 30k

 

are your kids atleast seeing the money? by that, i mean is it actually used to help support them. if so you should feel good about it.

i feel bad for my dad, he works hard for his money and yet a $550 check gets written to my mom each month. i live with my grandmother, and i never see any of that. it goes right up my mom's nose.

 

Mmm, I know if someone gave me $550 free a month itd go right up my nose.
