Default Man Talk..Divorced Dad Child Support Thread

First off lets keep this serious to a certain extent. How many of you guys are divorced or at a minimum paying for child support??

Here is my situation. I've been divorced for over 10 years and my ex took my three kids to NJ and I have been paing child support religously from day one. I wasn't making a whole lot of money back then so I was paing 750.00 per month plus health insurance. About 5 years ago I voluntarily upped my child support to 1200.00 per month. Here is my current situation.

My oldest daughter (20)lives with her mom and works full time.
My second oldest daughter (19) lives here in Tarpon with her boyfriend.
My son (13) lives with his mom.

question...how much should I pay her child support?? I currently give her the following;

800.00 per month
I pay travel expenses
I pay health care
I get nothing as far as tax deductables.

Is this fair? Or is it too much??

lets just say I make a good salary...and I have a 7 year old daughter that lives with me from my current marriage...can she take me for more???

I think its a little too much, but I'm paying close to the same. I pay $600 + medical.

I would say it is VERY generous. But I'm still married after 17 years. Sorry about your luck man.

I've been very generous taking into consideration that this is for my children and not my ex-wife. She thinks I should give her more...and I get tired of hearing her say..."I could always take you back to court". With the 3 kids in the past...I would pick and choose my battles wisely. Now....I think I have the upper hand and feel like telling her FUCK OFF...Take me back to court.

kinda unfair that she claims the kid on her taxes every year. My brother and his ex switch off off every year, or at least are supposed to, but every tax season she jumps the gun and gets the SS# on her taxes first so he gets screwed. He pays for her private school and i think 600+ a month in support. #1 reason i dont intend of having kids.
