Harley Started to Misfire

Mike Kemp I had this issue on my 2006 Heritage, and it was that the double-sided tape that holds ignition had come undon underneath the console. It was shorting out. Once I re-attached it it was good to go with no more issues.

To me the clue in what the problem might be is that she had just gassed up her bike. Either drain the fuel tank and refill with clean fuel or add some isopropyl type dry gas and that should take care of the problem.

my 2010 elec. Glide ultra flhcui will not start on first turn usually half turn after stopping for fuel or short stop with engine warm. It is periodic so not consistent. I haven’t changed my fuel filter for 32,500 miles. I have it scheduled next service: Just wondering how much this filter could contribute to issues?

Hi Ron, If the filter is dirty and is pulling the last fuel out of the tank before refilling it could be an issue.

Hi. Did the bike start running bad after filling it up? If so…smell the gas. The gas nowadays goes bad quicker than ever. If you run premium fuel, not alot of people run it anymore because of the price. Premium fuel sits longer in the gas station tanks. If it smells funky, relpace the fuel and go from there. Im a 15 year factory trained tech and i always start with the simplest thing first, you would be suprised.
