Who actually goes to the track?
I'm looking at BT here with 18 viewing, 17 guests, me being the only member wondering wtf is going on, yet again.
Main subject though, who actually gets out to the track? Which one? How often? I've been trying to save up to get out to a track day, I figure I'll be able to do it by years end. I know, I know we all are always improving our cornering on the great streets of Dale Mabry and the Courtney Campbell, but since I got back from Deals Gap I only want to go to the track to actually ride this thing.
Oh, extended swing arm users need not post..

i would love to go to the track...and i know that the track is where youre supposed to improve your riding...i hardly go out anymore due to work...and i dont have my own set of leathers and hate the thought of renting some out...
I do get out occasionally and just do a brooksville ride...i have my own little path set out that actually does have a few nice curvy roads. My only problem is ive become just the weekend warrior. I really need to get new tires before i go out and start riding again. hooray

nope.. don't really feel like spending all the time and money to go spend a hot tiring weekend there.
i like to put together north GA / gap trips once or twice a year. and enjoy that. there i don't have to push to enjoy riding. where at the track, i'm sure i'd get caught up chasing times and throw it down the road. costing even more money and getting hurt. for me i feel there's less chance of me crashing up there than the track. as backwards as it seems.
sorta not my thing, i don't think.

Actually makes sense, but what roads in GA are you talking about? I'd like to get out to the track just to get a feeling of what it's like, but I understand how easily caught up I could get trying to tail someone or feel the pressure from someone trailing behind me and urge me to speed up.

Been to Jennings but haven't gone in years. Got expensive. I don't chase times as I can care less how fast or slow I am. I just went out there to have a fun and speed in a safe environment. Had a couple of oh shit moments but never went down on the track. (knocks on wood)
With gas prices now I don't think I will get a change to do GA, NC, and TN this year and may do a trackday later in the year.

how much do you spend to take a few laps at jennings anyway, would it be cheaper if 5 or 10 people rented the whole track for the day of even 1/2 a day. i would pay my share if there was a BT track day
