No just a great group of people, Jennings does offer first time novice days a couple times a year.

Craigslist and local for sale forums are your best bet, I pieced my gear together cheap. Most people go out buy new gear wear it once to a trackday and end up selling it for different reasons

If you guys want a good school to go to, try the Penguin Race school. Very good for starter to race experts. The Woods brothers are great guys! They race AMA. they pretty much live at tracks.

They schools run in Jennings and Homestead! I love homestead, but for a beginner Jennings is a lot better as hs has a few tricky turns and not very good at labeling the apex markers like JGP

if money is at all an issue, dont even fuckin bother man. if you cant afford the trackday itself then you cant afford to fix your bike after it goes summersaulting through the air

If you really look at it, there are ways to make the track more affordable. Sometimes the streets can cost more then the track. Shoot I recently just got into a pinch on the bike and paying up thousands in fees. I wish I could have used that money at the track, where I would have had more fun

Well, with time everything is taken care of. I don't care if something happens to the bike, it'll get fixed eventually, it's not like I HAVE to be at the track the next weekend. It's just something I want to get a taste of because street riding in Florida is disappointing for several reasons, not to mention you can't express the full potential of the bike and learn exactly how to handle it. I'd rather have one track day under my belt knowing I learned something than to keep on riding the same roads making the same mistakes that I am not fully aware of or that I can improve on.

Also, I've been searching everywhere I can for gear, boots are a bitch to find with the right sizing.

+1 I was hooked like a crack fein several years. It was mind blowing the amount of money some guys throw at this sport. But, if you do it right! You can make going to the track affordable

I know I know, it's just the gear that needs to be acquired, then I'm set for the basics at least. I actually want to get addicted because I want it to take my riding off the streets and only on the track.
