Brandon... Be nice. Remember what momma says: "If you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all." I was scared to WOT my 97 YZF-1000 at first, and I was scared to rip the throttle all the way on my 636 with bolt-ons. I still haven't tried to crack the throttle really hard in first, cuz I know it can and will lift the front.

Used too but now I have a slight fear on my right turn on a hard sharp corner. I don't care much for straights (actually, hate it) anymore. Keep it real, who cares what so-so can do and how fast. Its all about waking up the next morning and be able to ride again.

Hey man, everyone was new at one point. I was scared to go WOT on my 14 second Virago when I first stopped riding.

only thing i'll add to this is if you really had a sv650 and it felt quick at ALL. untill you ride a newer 1000, you just can not wrap your head around how fast they are.

a newer sv650 runs about as good as an early 90s 600 4cyl. todays 600s run about what those 90s 1000s run. i've owned my 10 for 2 years and when your up in the power band in 2nd and 3rd, it still feels like i'm fast forwarding from corner to corner. i'm not scared of it at all but i damn sure respect the hell out of it and only ride it like 70% of what i think i can.
