Patiently, I wait.

Hmm... Miami... July... is it time for us to start seriously considering a cool suit? I've done Sebring in July wearing jeans and a t-shirt and 30-45 minutes is enough to make you delirious! Gonna be worse in full fire gear.

That and ifs a 12 hour race. Ideally that is 3 hours each x 4 drivers.
Taj how strictly does Chumpcar enforce the 2 hour stint per driver.?

Yea all the climate parts are gone. OR we could just add AC..

At Rockingham it was pretty much the honor system... Not saying it will be the same in July or not, who knows for sure. In fact in the drivers meeting we voted to change the 2hr limit to 2.5 hrs since one car could go that long on a tank...

Good point, with no yellow flags we would be out of gas at 2.5 hours. We will have to base the pit stops off of Fuel vs time.

Loren I am looking at the cool shirts. there are $300 and $600 models. it looks like the difference is the size of the cooler, 8 and 16 oz i think. the 16 ozstates it good for 4 hours.

you will want the 16oz, the smaller one is really only good for sprint races. also freeze the ice into big blocks in those plastic food storage containers. keeps the ice from melting as easily.

Honestly its probably cheaper to get in better shape. I know before I lost weight I was tired after a 45 minute stint in the car. Since I have gotten in shape I did an hour and a half stint at Daytona in ~85* weather and felt fine afterwards. No cool shirt. I have the system from my dad's old race car, but haven't bothered to put it in mine yet because I haven't had the need.

Chump car just finished. A VW Jetta won.. this was a 24 hour endurance race at VIR..

The winning car ran 1,420 miles non stop. Besides Pit stops for fuel and driver changes.

Jeff I still need a seat also..
Most of the ones I see have 37 inch backs, but the seat belt spots are what I am interested in.
I need to talk to the team. I think we will need 2 shirts and the system.

Didn't you get the link to Sparco I sent with the demensions? MOMO is getting out of the REAL race seat game so even though they are cheap whatever you get is that.

here is the sparco again
www.sparcousa.com/resourceFiles/26.pdf

looks like the tallest non "tuning" seat thay have is the EVO2+ with a Sholder heigth 2" higher then the Norm.. 2+ is for TALL Boys, where the 3 is for big boys. it's not a cheap seat. but I honestly beleive it's money well spent since you can move it from car to car easily.

As for the cool shirt. did you need nomex or carbonX shirts or does everyone have 3 layer suits?

The 24 Quart GIANT (6 hour system) it's $429.95 (I don't know these "ounces" you speak of)

the shirts themselves depend on style and size. but all are under $200 and the base kit comes with one (1) shirt in whatever size.
