ChumpCar
I found a way to get my adrenaline fix in May!
Just in case other Tampa teams are interested, although the entry deadline has passed, the LeMons guys are still accepting registration for the May 22-23 race at CMP.
GT30 is in!
Travis, you seriously think 20+ teams will show up the day before July 4th!? I always try not to be on the road that weekend! And it looks to me that nobody in Miami or Orlando knows anything about Chumpcar!
I know LeMons did their first few races in a radius of a few hundred miles to allow the same teams to participate in all the races, and therefore assuring a good turn out. But once they first held races on the East coast, how many teams were racing?

After running the 2.5 mile track in Tx i wont be going back to CMP unless they cap it at 75 cars. Its just to crowded.
If anything I was thinking about doing a SAFE DE in the Lemons car.
Besides I have my BMW Bavaria all apart and need to get it painted before the end of May., I am taking it to the Vintage at the Vinyards event. So ill just work on it instead of the Lemons car. THat and I need to get the VW done for Sept..

Taj, the BMW CCA club has been up there, we are talking to them about renting the go cart track for a Auotox time attack type event. But I have yet to run the big track.
I just went out to the Chumps site they are running a CO race.. Only 16 cars.. DAM I guess break even is 10 cars so hes not lossing his @ss. but still 16 cars..
If we could of had 20 cars show up for Homestead I am betting he would have the race., We need to get busy on the south FL forums advertising an taunting other drivers to show up and run.
Tree.
Im just going to prep the car. I already have 2 paint guys giving me quotes to paint the car.

I know the May 1-2 chin day still has openings at sebring right now. I won't be there as I will be racing SCCA at Daytona that weekend.
and I don't know if the cfbmw team will exist or not. I don't know if most of them realize how much time has to be put into the car. I was working with one of the lakeland guys trying to get moving on building a car, but at the same time am trying to save my budget for my own race car. Kind of torn at the moment on what I want to do as the chumpcar/lemons stuff looks like a damn good time.

Sorry I was looking at the wrong schedule. They dont have a race untill July after the Chump event. I really dont think we need to shake down the BMW, we just ran it in Tx with no issues.
We need to replace the rear brake pads, but thats about it.
