you should also check out ultrashield race seats. They are lightweight aluminum seats and the padding is actually pretty comfortable on them. Their spec miata series is just called that because its mostly who they sell to, but that is their seat designed for small cockpit cars. I think I got my seat for $250 ready to go. They have a few different designs (and sizes) including halos. You have to run a seat back brace on it, but for the price its hard to beat. My SM seat fits me perfectly.
