what kinda explorer u getting? i got a 99 sport and i jus got done puttin my system in. it takes up the whole trunk tho. Ill take pics today

 

I'm looking for a 95-99 4 door.

 

For a car of that size,I would suggest upping the high frequency output from 5.25 inch to 6..5's or possibly doing a pair of 6x9 with 6.5's. If you're gonna have at least 2 12's in your car then you're gonna want to even the highs out The audio store that I worked at did not sell the MB quartz line, but I have seen really nice systems worked out with the Kicker Solobaric series as well as the Rockford Fosgate competition series. For your mids and highs, the Inifinity Kappa series as well as the eclipse line will give you excellent clarity and are pretty durable. They're a bit more expensive than the rest,but will last much longer.

and in my car i have 5x8 infinity reference all around, lil too much tweet and doesnt bring out the mid bass that well. I wanna get some new speakers

 

yea my infinity components = shitty bass n midbass sounds all nasty

 

A reason you might be getting shitty midbass with your components could be that you're not giving them enough power, that or you just need to tune your system better.


On a side note...I would recommend looking into some home audio mids. A friend of mine went from a set of $700 Rainbow components to some $30 home audio mids and they blow the Rainbows away. You just have to know what you're doing and have decent crossovers because home audio speakers can be picky. I'll see if I can't find out what brand he got if you're interested.

Ya let me know. I'm all for saving money, I just want to have very loud and clear highs/mids.

 

right now they sound shitty because there running off the HU. But even when they were amped up they wernt the best.
