I agree with you fully dsk888, but when i beat a ford taurus i don't assume that he had a supercharged 454 in it... just because he thinks he heard vtec does'nt mean the car had a B16 swap, is that really so unreasonable? A story is much better when its based on fact. Agree?

I have a question though. You said he removed the hubcaps for speed reasons, can you explain? I have always wondered why imports do this. Are the stock wheels lighter than most aftermarket wheels so it would be better to keep them and remove the hub caps? Help me out here.


On another note, I bet when "V8" guys start throwing out things like LS1, LT1, 4.6 SOHC, and 4.6 DOHC. Most "Import" drivers probably wonder what we are talking about.

Bruce i think in this case he was being sarcastic.

Ricers remove the hubcaps on thier hondas because when you (auto-x?) they make you take them off, beacuse they can pop off when you are driving.

I had a bud with an RX-7, and he always had to take off his valve stem caps.

i properly built and tuned b16a can make around 170whp.

in a hatchback i know of several cars in the 13's with just b16a's.

and everyone fails to realize how badly tuned a car can be...for example this kid could have a GSR motor or Type R motor and have it running too rich, at 11 degrees of timing..etc..etc. my point is any motor can run like shit while tom's rsx is mostly stock and is probably right around 165-175whp.

on another note, my small worthless b16a put like 4 cars on an RSX at the track a few months ago, and i only run 14.5's. point of the story, tom's RSX is slow, and the coupe with b16a is also slow because the kid tuning it is an idiot.
