Ive said many times in this thread that i need practice, im not denying that.

Chris, do you know how a Torque converter works? I KINDA do, im still learning alot about them, but from what i know, they are Torque multipliers. they mutliply torque while the impeller and turbine spin at different speeds. Albiet, this is a brief instance.

This months Issue of CAR CRAFT does a great job explaining how they work. They state right there in plain ink how they mutliply Torque.

how else do you explain the awesome 60 foots(those other A4 guys get! )

if i have 300 ft/lbs of TQ near idle, the converter multiples that by 2.5.... 300*2.5 = :o

granted thats only until the turbine and the impeller match speeds, but it makes for short 60 foots!

(read up on what STR is )
I know what STR is, kid. You're right, I do have a manual transmission, and that requires more skill than an A4... it's a lot more easy for me to blast the tires off at the line. You have an A4 with convertor which should do nothing but help you. Look at Jesse... he pulled 1.6 60' times on RSA's, and all he had was a convertor, shorties, cutout, and a lid, and he was deep in the 12's. Oh, and that was on a "regular Z28", not even a B4C with the 'special B4C mods'.

Well... should we list off all of the A4 LS1 guys who've hit 12's and sub 1.8 60's with less mods than you have?

At least you admit that you just can't drive.

thats a good page too. I read that and all of the competitors pages before i bought my Yank a few months ago.

For example, a stall torque ratio of 2.0 would multiply 200 lb. ft. of engine torque to 400 lb. ft. of torque at the transmission input-shaft.
so if i can make 300ft/lbs at 0 RPM on the shaaft, and my STR is 2.5 im close to 750 ft/lbs

i know how to drive better on my s/r's then slicks.... 2.0's on the S/R's would probably have helped me pick up another .2 or so track night... i really wanna see a vid of me running though...2nd gear every time was just spinning...the launching was fine(cept once ) cause i was feathering the brake.
