If you can get a 98 Passat for less than 9, then definetly a GTi

 

I doubt you could find one in good condition for under 9k, maybe with over 100k miles, but you never know, did you look on the vortex yet in the classifieds? Also it will take more than just a chip to run with an EVO. Be realistic please.

And again the 2.0t is NOT based off the 1.8t, do we need to have this discussion again?

 

I wasnt here for that one, and I dont know where you got your info from..but what I heard was that it was..

 

From a roll, It's said that AWP 1.8t's with chip/I/E will keep up with a stock, and i stress STOCK Evo from a roll. Not saying it will beat it or demolish it at all. But from what i've heard it makes it a drivers race. Considering With those mods listed GTI's can make around 260-290lb ft of tq. at crank (depending on chip used), i could see this happening.

 

260/290 at the crank isnt possible on a k03.....maybe 230/250ish....

 

There are plenty of dyno plots on VWfixx with 1.8t's making this much power with the stock K03. I doubted it myself until i saw those.

260 hp is possible on k03 but thats at 21 psi, in order to hit 21 psi you would need the apr chip, and remember thats as the crank, prob lookin at 225 whp

 

wut everits bad ass and will be faster than the car i got now...maybe little cheaper insurance bc its a VW...its hot and all..i did hear with the chip i doubt it will run next to a evo. my friend in his 350 ran a gti with a chipand he beat it...dunno if the kid was a shitty driver(i hope) i need a car that will be faster than my friends 350z
