I'm a 4 banger.....forced induction & No I would never take the Comfort factor out of my car.
A/C, heated seats, carpet, stereo, sub, noise insulation blah blah blah!
I will always respect a cars speed. But yes a "Gutted car" is not my definition of a true street car.
"Fun" for me is taking out a C4 vette (MT) (Green w/ bbs wheels Custom exhaust....all purdy & shined up) with a wagon

yourself, don't pull names out and use them for examples whenever you want
to prove a point.

what you would have to lose to gainspeed in an N/A I4 makes the car a lousy one to drive. Import tunnel vision say "i dont care as long as its fast." in that case put a K20 in a rusted garbage can, you probably could run 11's with that. You would be a lonely person to cause your not pulling girls with a garbage can.

Im done with this, C4, you really need to open your eyes. Because you cannot admit that these 4 bangers are coming up in the world. We just trying to go fast just like you, and because of your PRIDE, you cannot admit that. That is a shame man

i have .998Liter engine that makes damn near 200hp and 90fllbs of torque at the crank. i understand how technology can increase hp. its twice ad important in the motorcycles world...power to weight is what bikes are centered around.
i have no problem with I4 turbo cars. i understand the potential turbo cars have. i have no problem admitting that and i alredy did.
here is somthing for you to chew, when your goal is to swap in another N/A motor its a waste. swapping for a turbo or anyother low compression motor should be the goal, because thats where all the hp is. this whole discussion would have never happened if the car was turbo charged.
as far as seeing the foward progress of 4 cyclinder engines well when your not making much for hp its easy to improve on. i think i read the new civic Si is up 25% in hp(to 197hp) this year. its not hard to make that kind of gain when you making 160hp previouly, getting more out of it should be hard. i like the increase in hp honda introduced, but we all know you can get more out of it when the top of the line RSX is caliming 220hp, and an S2000 is claims 250hp.
go back 10 yeas in the corvette it was a 300hp car. now they're 400-500hp cars...its on the same progression as I4's technology in general is making cars faster and its irrevalant to how many cyclinders there are.
As for my pride the first thing i did was state that both cars are slow. i think the Camaro is equally underpowered as the honda, but it has a better begining platform, and you can make it fast with out sacrificing all the comforts you paid for. "there is no replacement for displacement." its true in most applications. almost all fast turbo cars have increase displacement in the import world. Ex:AMS EVO has an increased displacement along with anynumber of fast supras(Titan) with 2.3 & 3.2L/3.4L strokers.
99% of the people in this thread have slow cars and point to others to prove a point and defend imports.
why do import guys always want to throw hands? beating people up when things get out of hand is what i get paid for.

I agree there is no replacement for displacement.
But just to clearify. The fastest dsm`s out there are all still 2.0 ltrs not strokers.
Even in the GM ecotech camp they use the 2.0ltr over the 2.2 or 2.4.
Most for the ability to rev past 10k rpms.
