i dont usally mess with nissans i had a 280zx thats the only nissan i had and i didnt have it that long but its most likely the maf sensor it needs to be cleaned or it needs replacing but i dont know about the cat never had that problem with my cars or ne body i know

i have had the problem on my 86 nissan pick up. idel went to shit and smelled like rotten eggs. took the cat. off and welded a straight piece of pipe in it's place and it fixed the problem. ohh and when i took off the cat. you couldn't see that it was clogged, but it will be heavy as all hell.

 

i guess i will have to just take it off btw isnt it illegal to drive around on straight pipes?

Yeah, it's a ~$1,200 fine for no cat. I wouldn't remove it myself, but you can always inspect it. Rotten eggs once warmed up? Also check for an exhaust leak pre-cat.

I would change out the plugs, then wires, and inspect the rest of the ignition system. It sounds like you're missing a cylinder. Go for the cheap stuff first when troubleshooting. It's too bad I don't know you, we'd have this figured out already. How the hell did your rep get so low?!
