Quote for me, if you will, where I said ANYTHING about bolt-ons, or mileage, or production numbers for that matter? I'm tlakign about handing its ass to it STOCK, do you grasp the concept of STOCK?! As in, factory EVERYTHING including tuning. JEsus H. Christ, calm the fuck down next time before you start flaming someone.

no, your logic makes sense, its just that its a matter of displacment. the fact that a 3.0l motor can make as much or more power as a 6.0, 7.0 or even an 8.0L production engine proves my point. it takes more engineering to make more power out of a smaller motor, and make it live longer.

Well I never debated that, hell a well built 2L motor can make the power of a shitty 8L motor. Nor did I debate that imports have some great ideas behind them and the American market has been borrowing them for quite some time now. They're not bad cars, don't get me wrong on that.

this is too funny,
i hate to say it buy my 401 with stock forged crank and rods are good for around 700hp n/a and 7800r's. have them shot pinged and there good to 8800r's and 850-900hp @ the crank n/a. PS all amc 390's and 401's came with forged rods and crank. but where talking 30+ years ago. the last 401 was made in 1977.

ok lets compare a n/a car to a turbo/supercharged car. a turbo 280-300ci inline 6 can smoke a stock 302-350ci v8 na car. wow that a surprise

if your going to compair a 300ci inline 6 with a turbo. then you should compare it to a 302 or 305 turbo/supercharged v8. they have about the same ci just one's a inline 6 and the others a v8

you guy crack me up with your turbo 4 bangers and mods beating stock 302/305ci n/a v8's. i don't see to many people with kills against turbo/supercharged v8's. then again i don't consider a v8 under 400ci worth building unless your going to turbo or supercharge it. yes i know you can get a lot of hp out of the small v8 but you can get more with more cubes.

i see lots of posts about road racing and going around turns but i bet very few if any people have the cars setup for it. they just roll race because the car is a dog off the line and that's the only thing it's somewhat good at. then they can brag, my car with mods and 20 lbs of boost beat a small stock n/a v8.

domestic cars are way slower then they use to be. they started all the emissions control junk in the 70's. i grew up when there was still a lot of fast domestics on the roads. you can't go by what you see posted for times for the old cars. they where tested with junk 225/70/14 tires and would spin the tire down the track. imports where using 4 bangers what where dogs back then and god where they ugly shit boxes. then again i think most cars are ugly now days. i hate the look of most imports.

just like any motor. if you add a turbo or supercharger it will add a lot of power. but with a v8 you can get big hp n/a. i'm from a different time i like n/a cars. any car can be fast with a turbo or supercharger. but with the more cubes the faster it could be. lets see, 410ci with 20lbs would = ? shoot 10 lbs ?

what would the lag be like with a 1000hp skyline? i would think it would really hard to road race a car with that much hp.

the only reason you see more fast cars now is because they have power adders.
