So what you guys are telling me is that if and officer comes up to you, you have the right to act like this guy? You should read a little farther into your rights. Its called obstruction. You are required to cooperate if it will not incriminate yourself. This guy did nothing wrong, so why not show his I.D.?
Why not show an ID? Well why not take a lie detector test also if you have been accused of commiting a crime...Well my reason for not taking one would be because they arent fully positive hence the reason they are never used in court and no matter your outcome , they can never be held against you. So you figure Im an idiot for that too? I, if accused of something and knowing that I can get no charge if shown that I failed the lie detector would still not take the lie detector just because I feel that strongly about my rights.

If I did nothing wrong then the cop should have (A) never pulled me over and (B) never asked for ID at anytime so he gets no ID at anytime and if he needs to take me under arrest I will not disagree or try to stop him but serve my few hours in processing, bail myself and or have an attorney appointed in the mean time, get bail then go to court and kick that cops ass there with the power of a judge.

This kind of shit is the reason that people who break the law have more rights then the victims.
and NO he did not say he was investigating anything but an investigation so my question is, what the fuck are you investigating? Surely its not an investigation of an investigation right? You better come up with some facts if you want me to cooperate with ya...

Why don't you ask a real cop what he is trained to do when people act like the guy in the video.

When you do that let me know.

Cykociv,
I think you will find a different answer as you go from police department to department. Some just throw their officers out in the field while others actually train their men and women. I notice HCSO doesn't do anything special for their people and I feel really bad especially when I see their paycheck.

I dont need to ask any cop what he is trained to do.Let him do it and be prepared to face the wrath of a lawyer that will break his badge into shit and dust.

I fully stand by my rights and as I said if need by even if not guilty I will not hand over my ID for some bogus claim even if I know that in 5 second I could get him outa my face. I will just say fine, arrest me then because I have done nothing wrong. Once arrested I will have my attorney appointed for me and promplty get bail then proceed to start a court case.

Watch it again. 26 seconds into the video he explains why he was called out there. ALL of your points are invalid now. KTHXBYE.

I am curious as to how you "notice" that HCSO doesn't do anything special for their people? And paychecks? What do you think they make?

Now as far as this incident is involved, it went fine. The Deputy informs him 26 seconds into the encounter that he is there for a reported fight and the guy acts pretty furtive in his movements. When people start the "take me to jail" talk they usually have been arrested before. Now the guy had a knife on him but he very easily could have had a gun too. See how he kept moving around? Bad guys do that to size you up to see how you will react to their movements.

The guy was verbally and physically obstructing the investigation.

As far as going up and talking to the daughter, it was a situation where 2 officers normally respond and you keep the parties seperate. This was done and Deputy Dove was handling Mr. Hiibel. The other LEO was securing the daughter until Dove was available to interview her. Deputy Dove could not be in 2 places at once and when his backup arrived they went to her so his focus was on the reported "aggressor" in this situation who was giving him a hard time to where he couldn't investigate.

When she gets out and attempts to run back then she had to be placed into custody for officer safety. This is common in domestic situations as the 2 parties will fight each other but as soon as cuffs go on one then they are family again, now teaming up on the officer. They did everything right in taking her down, her age had no bearing on it. Last time I checked a 17 yr old can kill just as easily as a 40 yr old.If you notice they do not beat her and they even offer to take the cuffs off if she will calm down. Yeah they were such dicks.

Cliff Notes: Deputy responds to Domestic Fight, tells Bad Guy why he is there, BG acts stupid, BG gets arrested. BG's daughter tries to run towards Deputy and gets placed into custody.

I'm curious about something - What about the cop pushing his weight on the passenger door, trying to prevent the daughter from getting out?
