Default Project Vette Killa'

This is the 2nd small block that has been transplanted into this truck, so were totally stripping it of all wiring and doing it right this time.

The story. 1991 Chebby S10 long bed. Came with a 4.3 Vortec. Engine took a poooo. Replaced engine with a high mileage 305. Bad idea but ran decent. 305 decided it didn't wanna run anymore so we went and picked up another small block for the truck. So all the wiring has been stripped and were doing it big this time.

Engine- Small block chebby. Brand new pistons, rods, crank, bearings, pretty much the whole shebang. Has a .458 cam, RR's, performer intake and is one stout peice that will be on a large shot of giggle gas.

The mission. TO MAKE A RELIABLE CHEVROLET TO EVENTUALLY TRADE FOR A FORD

Onto the pics. This is just the begining. Thread will continually be updated as progress is made.

This is the old engine. In peices now...

And this is the new engine

I've always wanted to do a small block S10. Years ago I bought a nice and straight 84 S10 extended cab short bed that I was going to build into an SBC powered daily driver. I had to abandon it though because I needed a nicer DD with A/C on a quick time line.

I've owned a 2001 S10 extended cab with 4.3 and all the options since new. She's got 125k miles now, but still runs and drives great. Not sure if a V8 would ever fit into the plans in the future, but I do love swapped trucks.

The 4.3 Vortec is just a sawed off 350. There badass little engines but still can't compare to what's going in it now .

And actually the Vortec was faster than the 305! Lol

wow, that's sad. My truck is many things, but not fast. Not even quick.

you ever have internal problems or are looking to hop it up machine work wise let me know, chevys are my shops bread and butter. is that a small or large journal crank in it? and yes the 4.3 is faster than a 305. they use 4.3s in some sprintcar classes turning 10k but they dont last long for a 30k 4.3lol
