From then till Now!
Ever wonder how some of the trucks you see today got to where they are now? WellI figured I would post up all the stages mine has gone thru to get here.
First,
I traded a Jeep YJ on 40s to get the truck,
Was, 1 tons 513 gears, 44 boggers, 355 small block, 4 speed, divorsed 205 t case.

Well along the way the flywheel exploded and wiped out Alot, engine, tranny, both headers, floor boards, and almost my leg.

So New motor, SB 406 with about 550hp, race preped TH400, New exhaust etc, Well then started breaking axles and decided to upgrade to the 2.5 ton Millitary axles with some tractor tires.
So pulled all the old stuff and picked up new leaf springs, hydro steering and of course the tractor tires and axles.

And this is how it stayed for a while, but then got tired of how the leaf springs rode and wanted to 4 link with coil overs. So begin the next step.

Well worked great that way but then ran across a great deal on some 62 inch tractor tires and couldnt pass it up. Picked them up but was back to worrying about breaking axles all over again. Now on to upgrading to the 5 ton millitary axles. Wow these things are HEAVY. The swap involved all new 4 link brackets, brake, rims bigger drive shafts, SCS transfer case, and alot more work than i expected but as always worth it in the end.

So here it is now.

So Specs now are
1988 Chevy 1500
SB 406 550 + hp
TH 400 fully prepped
SCS billet transfer case
1610 series u joints and yokes
5 ton military axles
custom made 34 inch rims
16.9x34 inch tractor tires, 62 inches tall, 20 wide
All the fabrication was done by myself, but without the support of my WIFE and the help from my friends to help with alot it wouldnt have happened. It was a long road to this point and im sure i am not done here.
So whats ur truck story? and dont even get me started on the cars and bikes. lol

Impressive bro. Kick ass as usual.
Whats funny about my truck is I never take pics of it. Unlike my old SS, I dont really care to clean it or really take much care of it (appearence wise) since its a work horse. I have very few pics of it.

But i will give you a couple of things to give you an idea, the transfer case was just over 2 grand, each driveshaft has just over 1 grand in parts in them, 1610 series joints, Tractor trailer size stuff.
