hey camrydan whats wrong with camrys. I think that they are great cars and they do have the potential to be fast. Maybe not a 10 sec. car but they can still be fast. Dont knock down the camry just because you dont have one anymore. I have a 97 5sfe with major engine modifications in the works. I like the camry because its something different for a change theres nothing wrong with a little car diversity IMHO

an 88 camry has potential and personally any car has potential nowadays with the swaps going on. just takes $$$ i know you have alot of work in ur car it seems (u have 4th gen right?) and i would be interested to see ur setup or car in the future.
i figure if ur keepin the 5s-fe a nice t3/t4 with arias or je pistons and crower or carillo rods and other various work could have a nice amoutn of power. u seem to have the money. the original poster i know he odesnt have alot yet but it seems he already decided to justtake his moms hand me down 88 camry until he saves for a civic which is what he wants and will go faster for less.

Its cool man maybe Ill be able to show you my setup sometime when its complete. A lot of money is the last thing that I have right now. My car just got out of the body shop last week with extensive body work done to it it doesnt even look like a camry anymore. But nothing ricey in my opinion at least. I decided to work backwards and do the outside first before I start on the engine. I have a lot of performance parts just sitting at my house with a custom CAI from a company out in California on the way. Im going to drop in all of those things at one time when that company finishes the turbo kit that theyre making for that car. So right now engine=bone stock. And actually there is a camry club in cali that has some 12 sec. camrys. See ya later

el prototypes CAI? i could have made you one for alot less i expect? oh well theirs is ok i never seen it in person i guess its quality.
i doubt el prototypes will ever finish their turbo kit i still read up on them and team sc3 (southern california camry club).
there is no official 12 sec. camry yet. although i havnt read their forum in like 2 weeks. those guys with the 13 psi supercharged v6 think theyre going to but i have betted 6 months ago that they will blow up before that. they did talk about doing some major work but i will believe it when i see it. the 3s-gtes that are being swapped particularly wriaths (justin) will definately be a 12sec car WHEN it gets done (coming up on the 2 year mark in the shop). but he is sporting full upgrades and a gt30 turbo kit so i applaud his long hard work and money spending. should be interesting!

Yea wraiths car is done thats the car that I was talking about should be in the 12 sec. category. Im a part of teamsc3s club although not an official member so im on there along with this site all the time. Still waiting for EL prototypes turbo kit to come out. Its said that the 5sfe has a pretty weak tranny so I want them to do some tests and post the results before I order the turbo. I was thinking about also swapping in a 3s-gte but if the turbo holds up pretty good then I wont do the swap. Still planning to get pistons rods and all that good stuff. If after all of that holds up well then Ill run some nitrous and maybe Ill be able to get into the 12 sec. category.
