88 camery
You mean a 4age? if so i wouldnt... That motor is underpowered and was used in light cars in which no means a camry light... The 88 is kinda sqaured right>? You can try to put a 4ag-ze in it. Thats the supercharged 16v it would be a wee bit pepier.

if u really want to know the 3s-gte engine which is found in the mr2s and 90-93 celica all tracs (awd turbo celicas) will BOLT IN to a 2nd generation camry. the basic USDM engine had 200hp and 200ft/lbs of torque.
mate that to a 2nd generation camry v6 5speed tranny and use the 3s-gte harness and ecu and i believe the 3s-fe axles will work but the 3s-gte axles will definately work.
add to that clutch intake downpipe exhaust boost controller turbo timer boost and oil pressure gauges and you will have a mid 14 sec car (estimated). the 2nd gen camry is pretty light compared to the 3rd and 4th gens which do not let the 3s-gte bolt in.
16 valves means that above the cylinders in the head. you have 4 cylinders. 2 cams means 2 intake valves per cylinder and 2 exhaust valves per cylinder. so 2 plus 2 is 4 per cylinder which is 4 valves/cylinder times 4 cylinders equals 16 valves.
expect to have ~$4000 for swap with parts.
but id still just buy a civic. easy to work on better looking potential to be faster for cheaper.
