The fact that you have to swap means it is useless IMO. Even my Miata's 1.6 has a hell of a lot more potential than most any similar Honda IMO.
Mine has oil squirters and was already built for forced induction, I hear 300 is a good limit to keep the engine stock at.
But yeah I'm tired and cranky

Toyota's 4 bangers arent the best out there, but they are years better than anything Honda has had to offer, save for maybe the K24 or 2.3T. Rediculous amounts of time and money went into designing the Honda engine to be as economical as it is; trying to undo that and make it as "sporty" as you can is working against yourself IMO which is why it is so hard to get any usable power out of them.

Besides as the point has been made the car weighs in less then 2k, ofcoarse its not going to have much traction issues. But really where does the performance come to a halt for a honda engine with out dropping retraded amounts of money into it. Oh yeah a Paseo/tercel with a stock 3sgte > then any honda with stock type R. Lets say you swap a 3rd gen 3sgte into a paseo or tercel, stock 3rd gen puts out like 250 hp and a hell of alot more torque then any type r ever will. To crank out more power out of a 3sgte is so much easier then any type r.

b17. stock airbox, flywheel, and exhaust. 13.9@98. 2.09 60ft. car weighed right at 2100#'s. small toyotas, nissans, and hondas all have similar potential, it's just that most kids play with them and really don't have a clue. more hondas than anything though. I'm not really biased. I own a 1jz supra and a turbo sohc civic.
You are the reason I dislike Hondas and their croud so much. You think Honda is godly, but actually they are the worst out there. The little HP that you have is useless because it is up in the stratosphere; you guys need to come down to earth. Know ≠ no, the fact that a certain Supra engine is twin turbo has absolutely nothing to do with its power or potential, TERSEL ≠ Tercel.

They have to use the "100 HP per liter mark" because 1) its far easier to do on a smaller engine....FAR easier, and 2) thats all they have going for them. Frankly, HP per liter is not important, its TOTAL HP, which it always lacks.
M3, M roadster/Coupe, M5, M6 all have 100HP/liter or better, but they also have 330, 400/500 HP too. Theres other cars that do it N/A as well, but why bother? "Okay, you've reached 100/L, congradulations, now what?"
My car running easily surpasses that, and the fact that it HAS HP and TQ are whats cool about it, not so much how much HP it makes for L of displacement.
M3, M roadster/Coupe, M5, M6 all have 100HP/liter or better, but they also have 330, 400/500 HP too. Theres other cars that do it N/A as well, but why bother? "Okay, you've reached 100/L, congradulations, now what?"

PS I do agree, they are just POS small motor cars........but they serve daily duty better than anything else for me.
