Default surpa turbo swap mark III

My friend has a 1986 1/2 supra he wants to do a turbo swap. Just wondering what motors will fit? He lives in northwest Georga, any good shops in that area let me know? Thanks for all the help.

the 7MGTE out of the MK3 supra is a common swap and doesnt require much to do. Also the you can swap the 2JZ out of the MK4 in but theres a lot more mods that you would have to do than if you were going to swap the 7M. But a few people have done it so it is possible. And the 6MGE it pretty much a direct drop in. Look on celicasupra.com and go to the forums and use the search button.

yeas i agree, but when comes down to reliability issues , i dont like the motor, i owned one as my first car , was fun pulled hard but developed a problem one after another, HG problems way to common with um too,and if u catch it early enough u can save your motor as in my case i spun a rod

sorry man but i gotta call you out.... if you think the 1g-gte is a better motor then the 7m in ANY aspect you are retarded.... its the pansiest motor EVER put into a supra chassis. not to mention parts for it stateside are rare as ANYTHING since it never came here...have fun when something breaks.

on top of that for the 7m reliability issue...i dont care what anyone says...the 7m is perfectly reliable when its taken care of...the problem is kids buy the car and instead of fixing it up...they try to mod it out on a 150k mile + ragged out beaten up engine.... of course things are gonna break.....

the ONLY flaw with the 7m was the hg torque from factory but thats a weekend job to fix for an average user...so big freaking deal.

i rebuilt the engine in my car and its been problem free (aside from shit that i caused MYSELF) for the past two years and i drive the shit out of it....and it made a trip from here to TX and back with ZERO problems......

funny how when you do something right and take care of it the 7m is all of a sudden a reliable engine

well im sorry , if i think a certain motor is better blah blah, idealsupra> just one question have u ever drove a 1g? if not dont talk shit ...i understand were all of u r coming from..and yes i know if something would to break it will be hard to get parts.few things that i like so far bout the 1g over a 7m> GAS MILELAGE....the 7m sucks up way more gas compared to this, not saying that the 7m isnt good on gas.plus a little weight difference also compared to a 7m 3.0 .im not sure what the weight diff is but its significant i bet...and i like to be different .and as far as most parts go..been researching , suprisingly alot is compatible with 7m's and 1j's..a few things off a 2J but not much...its not that pansey ..stock is only 10hp down of A 7MGTE stock ...do miss torque from a 7m but i like the rev happy 2.0l 8k redline(i dont ever take it that far)
