Default CT20B Use or not to use?

I have the so called CT20B Turbo (1998 J-Spec MR2 ceramic turbo) sitting in my closet.

Condition: It has a little shaft play, but depending on how you position the turbo... it will rub on the exhaust side.

Now the CT26 (Stock 91 MR2 Turbo US Spec) that I have on the car is in perfect condition. So my question is, should I just keep the CT26 and not worry about the CT20B? Or is the CT20B such a bad ass, that I should use it anyways??

Current Mods to consider that I have:

HKS intake
HKS B.O.V.
Greddy Profec B II
Redline Tranny Fluid
Blitz T.Timer
Fresh Engine rebuild

I know I need exhaust, but I havent found the right stuff for the right price. All I manage to find is the wrong stuf for the right price or the right stuff for the wrong price. damn.

What says you?

Well. If you can find a place to get it rebuilt and checked out (aka CMR turbos) I would do so. But it would REALLY suck to spend all the time installing the CT20B just to have it die right away due to mechanical failure.

depends on how much shaft play your talkin here. I have a little shaft play in mine too(jdm 3rd gen turbo) but thats because its sitting for a YEAR NOW and has no oil in it. Your probably better off having someone who can tell you if the seals are bad or the bearings and such. It is more than worth the trouble, it is a far better turbo all around the ct26 you have now and the ceramic is a nice touch. Rebuild kits are not that expensive for just some bearings and such , and possibly not that hard if you dont mind the experiment and such.

yeah, you should use that turbo... if you have a Supra CT26, let me know if you want to sell it.

Default Ok

I called the guy, Charlie from CMR Turbo, he said he works from his house in Zeph'hills. He said for me to ship it to his address and he will take a look at it for free. If it needs a rebuild, he said it will be $ 250.00 + Tax.

I really want to try the CT20B, but not sure about this deal...

Comments?

Dude, if he does not want to listen to your terms as the customer, I say fuckit. Go send it somewhere else that at least has a better reputation.
