Default Found boost/fuel cut on the 1JZ last night. Sell me a MK4 MAP.

Yea, Kelly was riding out 2nd gear and all of a sudden, it felt like speed cut... only at 50mph. At first, she thought it was rev limiter. but i noticed the speed and im like "uhm, no... 2nd gear tach's out to over 70mph... Plus the check engine light came on and then went off" soooo... we found fuel cut on a STOCKness 1JZGTE... NO modifications except HKS SMF intake and open Stock downpipe... Nothing else. guess we will need an upgrade ECU sooner than we thought. shit, if its fuel cutting on a STOCK down pipe, i can only imagine what its going to be like when i make a 3" downpipe for it. i still cant beleive that its boosting that high w/o any boost control and stock exhaust components. that is too crazy. guess i need to hook up the SAFC and a MKIV Map or something. i can only wonder how its going to run w/ the APU equipment.

Andy needs to come in here...he has a full 3" exhaust. Cant be boost cut because thats at 28 psi

I'd suggest a GM 3" MAF, then a MAFT. Thats what I'm going to do. Also, check SF 1JZ section

yes it was boost cut the ecu is VERY restrictive. I think anything above 18psi and the ecu will cut out.

why exactly do you recommend a maf? I'm completely confused here.

I'm pretty curious why you would recommend any mas and also say the ecu will not cut out till 28psi...makes no sense.

the maft allows you to turn off fuel cut on the 7m. it doesnt work on the 1jz though.
