your telling us this from experience? but you didnt try to build the 2nd gen......you went to the 3rd gen.....so where is the experience in what you are trying to say?

and you not appreciating me saying i think its dumb is dumb......you should appreciate my honesty and my opinion......i didnt make you do it.....thats like being gay and not appreciating someone calling them a fag.....they chose to be gay, accept criticism.....

we dont need to argue about this.....they are both great motors......2nd gen is great for those that dont have the extra time and money for a 3rd gen......how does that sound?

I realized it was going to be more cost effective to go with a Gen 3. Basically my head and block got damaged on my last motor. It was going to cost about 2500 to build the block, 1500 to build the head, 700 for the fuel system, 1500 for the turbo setup (t3/t4), 600 for the intercooler, and 2000 for a stand alone. These items would have net me about 350rwhp in my old 2750 lb car on race gas, with probably mid to high 11 second passes. I also realized that the turbo was going to spool too slow for road racing. So I decided to sell that car and get a lighter one, and I sold all my Gen 2 parts, and purchase the Gen 3 instead.

Price difference?
$6000 in parts + $2000 for engine Gen 2 vs. $3500 for a Gen 3.
No reliability (nothing stock) vs. Daily driver engine (mostly stock)
Too much power for RR vs. a well balanced package

You have to spend thousands of dollars to clear up the bottlenecks on a Gen 2 that the Gen 3 doesn't even have. So why waste the money.

2nd gen is great for those that dont have the extra time and money for a 3rd gen......how does that sound?
This all depends on what someone wants. Time? 2-6 weeks for shipping, and 3 days in the garage with hand tools to install. How much time is put into building an 11 second Gen 2?

My results, I ran 12.37 @112mph, stock engine, stock fuel, stock intercooler, stock turbo, street tires, 16psi. How much would it cost to get a Gen 2 to run high 11's (no NOS)? Because that is what is next to come with an intercooler and drag radials from this here Gen 3.

I am sorry if I seem argumentative, but I just don't understand why you think that the Gen 2 is a better route. If you built both engines the Gen 3 is going to make more power. It has a completely different head with superior flow design to the Gen 2. The head on the Gen 2 has been used since 1986, it's old technology.

There are the little differences that edge up to make 15%-30% power differences with the same mods (unopened engines)
