right on with the SHO remark. Yamaha is the world leader in head design IMO. i would put the yamaha tuning star logo on my supra but some kid in a civic would think its rice and probably wouldnt understand. i would have to boost on that ass and get a ticket most likly my brother had a R6 with a Yamaha racing devolopment ported head(how he got it i dont know) it dynoed at something like 130hp. OUT OF A SIX HUNDRED CC MOTOR!!!
for me the 1jz is a match made in heaven. TOYOTA Yamaha

concerning the yamaha head on 2j(stock) i dont think so. i hear it was getting too expensive for a production motor. not sure but thats wat i herd.

well the fact that all of the mkiv supras(2jz) are fast as hell and have SOO much power is that the people tuning them have bottomless pockets. the mkiv supra is hard to obtain in turbo trim under 25k. so the owners obviously have the cash.
if i had that kind of finacing i would show you proof by making my tail lights get smaller. in no way am i trying to start a pissing contest or be arrogent. just because i belive the 1jz is better i dont ask you to agree, i only ask you to just listen. if i could read japaneese i would search out some dyno graphs from FEAST AUTO or some other JDM tuner. it all boils down to how fast you want to go, or how much power you want to make is how much you will pay.

oh the M motors are not even in the same school as the jz.
the lack of numbers is the fact of rarity of the 1jz(like you said).
i will find a good graph. PEACE.


P.s. why do you think the 1jz-gte is not a contender against the 2jz? it is the base platform that the 2jz-gte came from.
what makes the 2jz better? lets turn this around for good debait.

i dont want to come on TR and look or sound like an asshole(reading lines of text, such this forum, is hard to tell if someone is being negitive or not)
if i have come off rude or negative i am sorry.
i dont speak down on the 2jz-gte in any way. it is the second generation of the jz series(witch is omnipotent).
really, lets continue this talk without thinking it is a pissing contest or an arguement. lets help make the toyota branch of TR the strongest and fastest of the forum hope you feel better, i was sick a few weeks ago

I don't know if I agree with all that. There are plenty of MKIV guys out there that have put on a down pipe, exhaust, intake and boost controller and laid down over 400 at the wheels. Whats that all run, $1500 at the most. Yea granted there are those out there that have an extra $50K in there cars (You Know Who You Are ) and they are fast as hell and look awesome, but it doesn't take much to make a fast car even faster...

i know with those same mods the 1j could get those good numbers, with exception to the fact that the turbos are not good for anything abouve 14pounds in stock trim. that is where the 2jz has the upper hand. as for the links and proof, if someone really needs it go on the internet and find it. i dont have everything bookmarked. look at niels 1jz im not sure if he has a graph on that site but i have seen his dyno run clip.
