Yea you already stated that the shops are doing just fine buddy. You can state it a third time if u want beneath this post if u want......lol. Don't think anyones out to get me. Like any person I can search for the best deal and I WILL find whats right for me. I posted to find a better price than what the big shops were offering and a lot of people came through so unless someone posts "i need my springs installed for around $600" save yourself the trouble and don't click the link. And you obviously didn't get my point about Walmart. Let me know when your head shrinks a little and we can have a mature conversation. But moving on if anyone needs a spring/ coilover installation in a shop with power tools and a lift for my price, let me know and I'll point you in the right direction.

You sir, are sadly mistaken in your outlook on shops and labor rates. I've been in this business for quite some time. It's unbelieveable how many customers I get because of their bad experience at a cheaper shop, and now they have to pay twice to get one thing done correctly. A large part of being an educated consumer is being completely educated, not just about what you want done, but the actual cost and how that cost in calculated. As previously stated, we use an actual manual to quote labor prices. That being said, you should not be so suprised at the cost of your requested repairs. Any other arument is a moot point. Period. Maybe next you'll start a thread about rising gas prices. Good luck buddy

No hating by me, just explaining to someone how things work, thats all. I agree with infamous. I can get a bum downtown to come put a new roof on my house for fifty bucks but i would rather pay more for a lincenced carpenter/roofer. thats all. Oh and zenith we are doing just fine

JCCSTI 4 times man? Cmon grow up. Infamous and JCCSTI this thread doesn't apply to you like I said but let me say this. You have licensed shops charging $65 an hour and licensed shops charging $100 an hour so maybe you guys are all reading different manuals. And further I bet you guys both do services on your cars for free or discounted using your own lifts and tools so the irony there is quite funny on its own. The truth is that you guys really are jaded. If gas prices were $10 a gallon would you just sit at the pump and take it up the ass. I know I wouldn't. I would do something about it and make sure that what I am paying is just and equal to what other consumers are paying despite the circumstances. So live comfortably guys until shit becomes so expensive and you cant afford things you take for granted now and then we will see how fast your attitude changes about what you accept. But then again I'm probably sure you'll take it up the ass.

BTW I have a great job and could afford any price listed above but I like to be smart with my money. Doesn't mean I'll hire a bumb or anyone I think is inadequate so please stop trying to make points that are far from similar to what I'm talking about. The shops have one opinion and the customer has another. Big suprise. The shops will always want more profit and the consumer will always want a lower price.

jcssti6275 yes i do agree with you that customers should not go up to some bum or back yard mechanic to have a job done. That is common knowledge. But as long as the customer has enough intellect that where there car is being worked on, there car is in good hands and will have quality work done and the buisness is not trying to screw them over, why not search for a cheaper price? the stereotype that you get what you pay for is correct but there are exceptions. when it is all said and done it is how the customer feels and first impressions at a garage can tell you a lot.

^^i agree with you, i am talking about his comment on shops overcharging, no one is trying to overcharge, he just doesnt know what it takes to do the job. his claim about S&R and such that "wtf is up with shops overcharging, we need to stop this" was complete BS!
