Also I'm not bashing you... I'm just stating that your prices are outrageous, and what better place to say that than where you are stating these prices? Just looking out for my fellow subie drivers

Again, unbelievable. I have tuned nearly 1,000 Subaru's and run WELL over 99% "thrilled with their tune rate" and people are in the thread specifically about my next tuning trip posting about other tuners that apparently help those that choose to tune themselves.

You know why there are professional tuners that charge $150+ per hour for tuning? Because there are people that want PROFESSIONALS that tune all day every day to tune their cars.

For the record, there are tuners that charge over $200 per hour and on other makes people get $600, $800, or even $1k for a SINGLE REFLASH or for less than an hour of tuning. So for those of you that think $150 per hour for a guy who tunes all day every day, you just don't even know what other people are paying.

This is not "looking out for fellow Subaru owners." If you were really looking out for fellow Subaru owners you would be making threads about "better" options, you'd be setting up "install days" or if you're really that great of a tuner you'd be offering your own services tuning, not coming into a thread about a tune that's already setup and feeling like a big man behind a keyboard bashing an internationally known tuner.

Congratulations, I'm glad you have been able to bash a guy who relies on providing services to Subaru owners to make a living.

Have any of you ever considered that there is a need for people that become "experts" in a field by doing it everyday. Who do you think figures out the really hard and confusing stuff for "fellow Subaru owners"? Who do you think does the development and beta testing on the new cars? If you are really so bent on putting all the guys who tune for a living out of business do you really think that will help the Subaru community?

Bump... LOL j/k...

anyway, I know what people pay... Too much.. you tried charging me 200 bucks for 20 minutes of road tuning. You made 4 pulls on my car...

I pay $350 for a FULL 35R tune. One was at TTP Engineering in Orlando. The other is up here in New England.

I'm not trying to be a tuner. I have a real job. Want to know who's really helping the subaru community: the people who in their spare time who write the code for FREE for Opensource/Romraider. Not people who try to make a living out of over charging people for their knowledge. I actually didn't even bash you and if you think I am get over yourself.

As far as install days... if you want to work on your car in the parking lot of my town home come on over we can use my cresent wrench and a flashlight...

Yeah and just because I dont have a big fancy garage doesnt mean I'm not helping the community. Go on some open source forums I have free maps out there. I made a map for the Grimmspeed BCS about a month after it came (probably the first free one out there). I also have a VF39/Sti Tmic/3port BCS map out there too (again the only one I've seen for a 06/07 WRX). And if anyone out there wants some advice on tuning I'd help them out. So STFU, like you said you dont even know me.

Also, the world's fastest ej205 was bought NEW by the current owner and tuned by me when it had near 25,000 miles on it. It now has over 130,000 miles on it, so when I said it has near 100,000 miles on MY tune, I meant on MY tune.

This thread is amazing, two guys in here bashing me that I haven't even met, one guy bashing me that I tried to tune repeated mechanical issues, and the only guy who has recently gotten tuned by another tuner after me did so after REPLACING THE ENTIRE ENGINE HARNESS!

Seriously, if you want to make a thread about how much tuner's suck, please make your own thread. This was supposed to be to help pick specific times for the people that have paid for tuning and haven't picked a time slot yet.

Siegel

wtf? I haven't even posted in this thread until now. I keep the bs to pm's. Most of the time.

at this point i was reading about tuning and asking nick a shit ton of questions went out bought a netbook for tuning only and had the car running better within 3 mins

Ignorant statement? I'm talking about tuning your own car. It's not something that somebody should just pick up and test out on their own car.

Also, yea $450 for a tune is ridiculous, but back when I got tuned it wasn't nearly that much. But, I guess that's the price to fly someone down and to use the dyno etc.
