anything that relieves back pressure can cause it. A bellmouth just relieves the most, so thats usually the culprit

okay well it happened again.this time i was driving hard on the car and i was in 4th between 5-6 rpms and running around 15 psi and it shot to 20 and then cel fliped on and i got off the car.Any ideas??

Boost creep. Lay off of it until you can get it tuned.

Didn't you say in a post you were going to lay off of it until you get a tune? Then a couple posts later your saying you were going into boost again, to see the same problem. Ummm....duh?

If you have done a VF upgrade on your WRX, make sure to install the restrictor pill if your not running a boost controller, as without it your car will also overboost. Or if you have your wastegate vacuum lines wrong your car will overboost. Nonetheless, get a tune and control yourself!
