Default GT35R update

FINALLY got the Brian Crower stroker kit shipped to Bobby at S&R. He is doing the cryo treatment for it, then will ship it to Top Speed in Atlanta. Hopefully, they can start assemblying my motor soon. Elected to not go for upgraded cams ($750+) as the motor should make plenty of power anyway and I don't need the extra top end on a mostly street-driven car. Hope to have more news soon.

bc 272's have less then 1 mm more lift then stock so not really worth the $$$

to the OP......why are you going with a stoker kit? What are your goals for the car?

Its definitely weird to just get a 35R thrown onto the car than just decide to go balls out with mods and keep stock cams. If you are already there, I would surely do cams.

well I'm definitely looking for more lift then the stock valves and springs can handle. I want enough lift to benefit my setup and my turbo. Thats why im looking into the kelfords 272 cams.

to the op: if your not going to do head work then pretty much the only option you have are the BC 272 or maybe the gsc stage 1 which will not be really worth it for your setup.

Stroker kit was the result of a cracked piston land during tuning of the turbo, and deciding to do more than just put forged pistons in. The heads are back from the machine shop and have had the +1mm oversize valves and upgraded springs and retainers installed. Maybe cams would justify the expense, but Im not that convinced. Anyone have any comparitive stats on big turbo stock cams v. big turbo 272's?

Ok, but why stokeer kit? Why not just stick with the factory crank which can handle 700whp++ then do pistons, rods, bearings? Are you going for big power or are you doing this big build to make 450-500 whp?

BC stage 2 272 are perfectly fine with 1mm over lift... thats why there just plug and play.

So be ready to replace everything. Springs/retainers id even do valves.... if your looking for more lift then that.

Also, The BC cams arent that bad. there a street manner cam with little lobe....
