Default Bcs925's mods and dynos

I wish I would have started this earlier (either on here or just personally) but I guess I'll start now at "stage 2". I am going to make a log of my mods and power output (using a RomRaider member's spreadsheet to make graphs). Figure as I keep track of my stuff I'll share and perhaps others might find this useful. (old stuff moved to post #2)

Car:
2007 WRX TR

**Update 4/22/09**
I have purchased a VF39 and Sti TMIC. I will be port and polishing the turbo (hot and cold side), IC ypipe, and IC outlet. I will also be heat wrapping my downpipe.

Timeline:
PnP: 5/1/09
Install: 5/16 or 5/17 if I can find somewhere/someone to help me do it... it sucks not having tools/garage... anyone wanna help? I can supply food and beer

Suggestions? Questions? Comments?

Addded a Grimmspeed EBCS. Spool slightly increased. I also adjusted the tune. As far as road dynos graghs I will post later (on my laptop). HP/TQ numbers were about the same but the boost spooled quicker and held slightly better. (graphs also to come)

Current Mods:
3in catted downpipe tapered midpipe to a prodrive axleback (2.5in)
TB coolant bypass (perhaps negligible, but figured I'd mention)

Miles when pull was done: 27k
Temp: 57ºF

if your already tuned i would wait on a new tune till you have enough mods were tuning for. like adding a vf39 or something.

I have to retune for the BCS... my car wouldnt run with its current tune. I already have a base map for a 3 port bcs so its not going to cost me anything.

Default Better Spool?

I wasnt able to do mods last weekend but I definately am this saturday (3/14). I will definately be doing PnP headers and IC elbows and maybe Prodrive ypipe (I'm buying a new one, the 07 version, anyway...).

In the spirit of !!Tampa Racing Subaru Tech Speculation Extravaganza!!...

The mods I will be doing claim 10-15 whp/tq (and no I'm not doing this in hopes of getting this but hey if it happens that would be nice, I really just want to work on my car) and increased spool... well below is my boost vs rpm.... is it actually possible to increase this? Speculate away

Yes I know its not that nice of curve, hopefully my EBCS will help that in 2 weeks. Also I dont kid myself I end pulls at 6k.

porting headers will give you better top end, but won't help your low down torque at all. If the turbo isn't ported, look into doing that. Just a light porting of the inlet and outlet will provide some sound gains.

Porting the turbo would be a project for another day for sure, and I go back and forth on whether or not to upgrade (probably vf39)... Seems like kind of PITA to get to, I suppose I'd have to remove it and I've never done that. I've never removed headers but they are just pipes so I think I'll be alright.

the earlier you start in the gear the fast spool with seem to be. so if you start a 2k it may seem to spool earlier than if you start at say 2500.

how fast do you want it to spool i know it will spool by 2800 if you start at 2k
the bcs may help a little on spool but it will mostly help it hold boost better.

when testing for gains try to be as consistant as possible so start on the same stretch of road at the same rpm to be the most consistant with gains.
